OK...so I was getting heavy-handed but Vladimir has been a thorn in the side for so darn long...and dragging heels over the righting of wrongs...

It's back-to -front as a conversation...but you'll get the gist of it.

Thankyou, Lars for your efforts so far...

Hi Paul,

I removed the link to PixOS from my site.

But I found https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=150208 in my

logfiles and want to ask whether there are other skins by him which aren't

ok.

I informed Vladimir about the removal too.

I think if you send a mail with such explanations to Fredrik Andersson

<[email protected]> he'll remove the skin.

I mailed Fred (Webmaster at my.opera.com) about this issue and this is what he answered:
Hi,
Thanks for letting me know about this. It seems like a big mess...
I will contact these guys today and sort this out. The copyrighted skins will be removed from MyOpera.

Could you please tell me which skins by Vladimir shall be removed from my site?

opera-fansite....I've passed the baton to the artists whose work Vladimir has used without permission. They will be able to indicate each one specifically...

if someone is hosting a site with ripped stuff, there is a very small change (1% or less) that there is something from himself between it!

In the REAL WORLD of issues of abuse of copyright/s and 'ripping', it seems we are one step closer to resolving one issue that has irked for some time.

I really get a buzz out of 'kicking goals' and actually helping solve problems that concern so many of us so often.

It may be just one little battle in a never-ending war....but look after the little ones and the big ones look after themselves...

Now...thinking of some people ...OK, a particular person who believed I was the epicenter of the whole issue of copyrights and ripping and I was the problem and not the cure.....instead, I receive this tonight in my email, and my initial letter follows it.

Here I am blowing my own horn and showing that if a situation is handled well its outcome can be positive....and next time some self-important fool wants to question my motivation, well...read it and weep.

Yes, I guess I really WAS personally hurt by a person who really SHOULD have known better...

Email/s follow-------------->

Hi. I have now removed the skins from Vladimir's page on MyOpera.com.

I will contact him today and let him know why.

There are some skins called 'Fauxs' that I left on his page for now

since they were not mentioned in the list below. I hope this is ok.

Thanks for your help in sorting this out. We will keep an eye on

Vladimir to make sure that he does not upload any copyrighted skins

without the authors permission.

If Pixtudio someday create a skin for the Opera browser, we would be

very happy!

Sincerely,

Fredrik Andersson

Webmaster Opera Software

you should note that Jafo most probably always asks the people before he posts their e-mail correspondence in a public forum. privacy, laws, legal mumbo-jumbo, etc.

great this got sorted.
