Iexplore

For some reason I cannot connect to the Internet anymore. It just hangs and when I Ctrl/Alt/Del it says "iexplore (not responding). Does anybody know what happened or what I did? Thanks.

can you ping things?

have you tried reinstalling IE?

If you choose "run" from the start bar and type Iexplore.exe in it, does it properly load IE?

A norton update hosed my IE not too long ago....a reinstall of IE cleared it right up.

sounds like Internet exploder has exploded... tell me what version of windows you are running and what version of IE you have. and I will see if I can help you.

If it is XP you must have Admin rights to correct.

Actually, now I can open IE with "run" but that's the only way I can get on the Internet. The desktop icon and the quick launch icon won't do it.

with IE6 running on Win98 goto add/remove programs and select IE6 from the list. You will be prompted to
Remove or
Repair
chose repair and reboot when told to do so.
If this does not work I recommend you uninstall and do a full reinstall.

If I understand what you are saying,I think I have had this problem before when I had 98, and each time I have never been able to figure out the cause, but, this is what has always worked for me:

1. Get the 98 CD, and insert into your CD drive.
2. Browse for the Setup.exe on your CD drive.
3. Reinstall Windows. This won't result in anyloss of file, but instead will just repair your system files.
4. Voila! Internet Explorer should work.
