changing logon screen resolution

does anyone know if it is possible to change the resolution on the logon screen through some registry key or other methods?

Ouch....

I think it's possible by hacking the msgina.dll file (or writing a new version of it). Take a look throught microsoft's site (search for 'gina'). Warning, this is not a trivial endeavor.
