Everyone has to question what someone asks of. It's just a freakin theme. He didn't ask for everyone to bash the rotary.

For the people that don't know what a rotary engine is..... It's a engine made only by Mazda & put into mostly RX-7's & the new RX-8. It doesn't have ANY pistons,valves,cams,heads,push rods etc. It's got ROTORS They look like a triangle (3sides)and the norm. is 2 in a engine. 1.3L that has less then 20 moveing parts & can make wellover 400 HP.

when i first read this MONTHS ago it sounded like you were saying we had never heard of a rotary before..and a insult.

just a variant on the titanium skin with a nice rotary/RX-7-themed wallpaper, a new sound set with rotary engine noises, tire squeals, a blow-off valve noise, and a turbo spooling up, and a revised cursor set where the pointer is a rotor, and it spins instead of the hourglass. It really isn't that difficult to figure out.

the matrix theme I believe was made to look like the matrix but was suttley different as to avoid any copyright issues.

As for copyright issues:
All Apple logos and alot of the OS X skins are gone cuz of copyright
All LCARS (Star Trek) are gone cuz of copyrights...

you really thing Mazda is going to give permnission for a free skin? they are out to make money to. If someone makes a REALLY GOOD WB mazda theme them mazda is gonna charge for it...

The Ronin, umm...being that you asked for a Rotary Windowblinds, sounds and cursors and wallpapers are irrelevant. Your only idea to WB was 'a variant on the titanium skin'. So why not just use one? There are many variants on the titanium skin on this site. How do you fit a rotary engine to the mix?

we'll just have to wait for the next rx-7 to come out (rumored to be 300-350hp)

p.s. why would you mention automatic transmission... that's a bit of a step backwards in the sports car department

As for messing with motors...my first engine swap was when I was about 12.....I figured I'd better sober up when I saw my mate literally assembling a 351 Windsor on his bedroom floor....but all that was 37 years ago.

Now I fart around in a 1600 Corolla...the Spitfire has been on blocks for 15 years...[maybe a retirement project]...and I get my jollies being up close and personal with the F1, MotoGP and World Superbikes.....much more fun than grease under the fingernails...

MotoGP? mostly 2 strokes, right? What is it , like 250-500cc. I don't know much about it, but I love everything motorsports. I ride Moto-X here in FL. We also have full race quads (400EX) I am also into superbikes. I also have a 11 time 1st place show winning 96 Honda CBR900RR.(wish I could post pics here) So , ya see I still like pistons I just happen to love the rotary.

Back to the rotary engine, the 238 hp that I quoted was directly out of an RX-8 solicitation (with the 6 speed which has more hp than the auto) that was sent to me. I would be curious of why they would publish that if it will pump more? Production values are usually high, anyway, because they run the dynos at optimal conditions.BTW, V8's run under 5 seconds all the time. Since all the fast Rotary stuff is highly modified, compare it to a highly modified v8. Kenny Bernstein runs around a 4.48 quarter mile. I can't find it, but I'd really like to see how much $$$$ it takes to make a rotary pump 500hp versus a V8. (And, of course, the chassis work and tranny that could stand it....)

1st things 1st. Since I stay with the rotary world I was telling you the # that I remember of hand about the RX-8. If my # was a tad off, I'm sorry because that is not what I'm and most of the other RX-7 guys are about. I got the car for $5000 It's a 88 MAZDA RX-7 10th ann. Turbo II (only 1500 made) and Less in the world now. I have about another $5500 in parts only.I do all my own work So 400RWHP (rear wheel HP) cane be made for less then that $10,500. How? Because ALOT of it is in other things other then HP mods. But , you should know that.

I will give SOME things that MY CAR has to make that power.

It's a S5 13BT engine w/ 2mm Atkins apex seals, soild corner seals,stage 3 street port ( porting on a rotary is like putting a big cam in a piston engine)

Fuel: walbro 255lph fuel pump,Aeromovie fuel press. reg (1:1 ratio),two 720cc pri. injectors and two 880cc sec. injectors, all Earl's SS lines, hoes ends and fittings. THAT"S JUST IN SHORT

Turbo: 60-1, Greddy type-s BOV,huge front mount intercooler, Greddy Profec-B boost controller, THAT'S JUST IN SHORT

At the hart,controlling it all is a MICROTECH LT-8 Stand alone EMS

As for the driveline on my car, remember that rotarys DON'T make more to torque then HP like a piston engine. So I don't need any extra braces to keep the frame from flexing. All the mounts (trans,engine, diff) have been up graded to full comp. The clutch is a ACT HD press plate w/ a 6 puck disk. The trans, in the RX-7 has been known to hold up to 600HP......STOCK! It's VERY strong. The the diff is a LSD.....STOCK!

I can take anyone one of you as deep as you would like to go about MY car. Just ask. Keep in mine that this is a streetable car that could come up next to you, at any time, when your sitting at a light. Although I don't like to race on the roads, I will spank someone if needed!

What color are you trying to have? dark gray? Silver caps?

I can see the XP panel looking pretty hot but not sure about the rest of the windowblind itself.


The 'easy' part is to break down the major elements of the engine or car and use those shapes and maybe the colors but then again it might not look like the car or engine afterwards.

I can see maybe some animated pistons on the top left or something... eat up allot of CPU though.


It just so happens I am making a car windowblinds but it is based on the Cadillac Sixteen concept car and all it has is a silver/chrome line and red 'tail lights' with a mostly grayish black over all color.


I would ask Hippy. He made a skin called V8 for Windowblinds. He works with Skinplant at http://www.skinplant.com

Anyway, some one might make one on there own time but it will be a while. It taks so much time and effort to make one of those things sheeesh! Leave it to the professionals...

This is what I was saying.

I was thinking about the stuff (i know nothing about these winblinds) at the top of the page I'm on now. You know that back button and stuff. Maybe some of the other stuff to. Like when I hit the "start" button. Sorry I don't more about this, I just love how it works/looks.

I was thining about using the engine it's self as the theme. Like the "X" at the top would be a rotor, the -could be a e-shaft and so on. There are alot of parts, in the engine, that could be used. Do somthing w/ a Turbo. Don't know if the arrow for the mouse could be made into a rotor. Pretting cool...... click on somthing with a rotor I have ENDLESS pics of the engine, from every view, inside, out side and so on.
