[SOLVED] Start11 will not pop up (Botched start10 install)

I can click on the start button till I'm blue in the face

SOLUTION HERE

I've bought Start11 hoping to cover up that abortion Microsoft dares call a start menu, but it won't pop up.

The menu works fine when I use the windows button on my keyboard, but clicking the Windows button does fuck all. When I go into the Start 11 config, menu "Control", sub header "On the Desktop", and set option "Clicking the start button opens" to "Start 11 menu unless in tablet mode" I at least get the abortion menu back.

Strange thing is, win11 doesn't seem to have a tablet mode, and thus no option to disable tablet mode.

I've upgraded to win11 from a fully updated win10 into dev channel, and switched to beta channel when it came available. I've never used tablet mode in win10.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help you can give me!

No joy. Also, even though it asked if it could remove all settings during uninstall, when I reinstalled it and rebooted I still had my own personal settings.

I've just remembered something that may be important, I've tried to get start10 working before on this win11 installation.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. maybe the Start10 setting was not remove properly. Please, again, uninstall Start11 than do the purge steps for Start10 as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling just make sure to re-download Start11 latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall Start11, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,

Right I'm off to work so a wee bit too much to do in the next few minutes, will give it a go after I get back.

Thanks for the continued help!

TL;DR: The suggestion worked, it was a dodgy start10 install. Thanks for the help! Steps posted for fellow fools.

Right sorry, work had me beat. Now doing the following (in order):

- Uninstalled Start11

- Reboot

- Manually removed Stardock folder (A "start10.exe" was still on the disk...)

- Followed your link and downloaded Purge_StartALL.zip

- Unblocked the zip file in properties

- Extracted Purge_StartALL.bat and run as administrator

- Reboot because the batch file tells me to

- Download Start11 from the link in my mail

- Unblocked the installer in properties

- Run installer as administrator

It's working now! So it was the dodgy Start10 install attempt. Thanks for all your help!
