Logons in library that won't install

I've noticed recently that there seem to be a few logons in the library that wont install. They are all zipped in .exe format and are logon ui - what ever that means. So how comes they get through in the wrong format?

Sometimes an author changes a standard ZIP into a logonxp file, but without the ini in it. On occasions, the logonxp file you download actually contains two other logonxp files, which are what you really want. If this one doesn't work, try to open it with WinZip or whatever you use. If there are logonxp files inside (usually the same thing for different resolutions) just extract those and run them instead. That should work.

Which logons are you talking about? If you give us examples we can probably help you better.

I'm not sure Logonui files should have been accepted, because they are exes, but I can't download British Edition to check it out.(file corrupted), and a search for grafitti produced no results (is the spelling correct?)............ but anyway, if you will click on the "Help" Button in LogonStudio, you will find a tutorial for importing logonui files.

Cazzie, The Grafitti logon has a logonui.exe in the zip, but is actually named logonuix.exe.
To use this..open Logon Studio > click the Import button > click the arrow by filename and browse to the Grafitti folder > change the browse dialog from (logonui) to all files > then select the logonuix.exe and click open...
After you put in a name click the convert button and it will import the logon...
You can also rename the logonuix.exe to logonui.exe before you start and you wont have to change the browse thingy.

Hope this is clear enough.

Oh, by the way....There are some logons from J.J.Ying...crystal & mac stuff which don't convert properly and you REALLY have to mess with them to get them to work right. The uifile is all tweaked up and I don't see how he even gets his screenshots. Maybe something in the export process.
