Start11 on Windows 11 often doesn't open on Mouse Click

With Start11 running, clicking on Start often animates it closing, instead of opening

I love the promise of what Start11 does, but it's still buggy on Windows 11. On my desktop (don't have this problem on my laptop), it always works if I hit the Windows key on my keyboard. However, if I click on the Start icon, about half the time, instead of opening Start, nothing appears to happen. Sometimes, instead of nothing happening, I see a closing animation. To describe the process in more detail:

  1. There is no Start menu open
  2. I click on Start
  3. Either nothing happens, or, sometimes, for about 1/4 of a second, I can see the start menu as it slides back down in a close animation

When I do see the closing animation, it's exactly the animation I would expect if I clicked on Start when it was already open, but this happens even though it's not yet open.

This means I have to click on Start multiple times to get it to appear as open on my screen, or use the Windows key. Eventually, sometimes after 5 or 6 clicks, it will appear as open.

And in case you think it' may be my mouse, sending 2 clicks instead of 1, I'm certain that's not the case for 2 reasons:

  1. When it's just the close animation, there is no initial Start open animation, only the close animation
  2. I don't have this problem with anything other than Start11, including if just turn it off and use the built-in Windows Start menu

The expression that starts "You had one job..." comes to mind...

If it makes any difference, this is the "Windows 10 style" Start. "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" is turned off. Start button is positioned to the left (not center). I have flipped most of the Shortcuts list to "Display as a menu" instead of links and added one additional folder (the PC) to display as a menu. I think most of the other options are defaults.

I'm running Windows 11, with all available updates through Windows Update applied (it hasn't offered this PC the upgrade to 22H2 yet). My mouse is a Logitech G502 gaming mouse. Desktop PC has 3 monitors configured as shown in this screen capture:

Resolutions and Scale, from left to right:

Monitor #3: 1600x2560, 100%
Monitor #1: 3840x2160, 125%
Monitor #2: 1920x1080, 125% (display orientation flipped)

Is this something you're familiar with or am I the first person to experience this problem? What can we do to fix?

Thanks,
Colin

Basj, so far, that does seem to have fixed the problem! Thanks. I'm not sure if that was a generic: if you're having problems try the latest beta version to see if it fixes it, or you recognized the specific problem as a known issue fixed with this update, but either way, now that I'm running 1.27, the Start menu seems to open correctly every time I click on it. It's too early to be confident that the problem won't return, but so far, so good.

Thanks again,
Colin
