It costs MONEY to run a site such as this with (what was it...) 2 million UNIQUE visitors a month.

OK that's fine.. if you want money for your work then put it on a site that will pay you for it, and you can recive royalties for it. If your going to use a site, that was free in the beginning, then it should stay that way!

Take a look around nowayinheck, the dot.com boom is over. This isn't the only site who has had to resort to asking its visitors to contribute. Plus normally you can access alot of it freely, just so happens after christmas we get a spike here of a new computer users, etc so it tests the servers.
If you want only the best skins, then chip in and help this site out and start complaining. Besides you can't go wrong with $20 for TWO years.

Incidentily I believe what affected you affected me, a subscriber, since I wasn't able to post to this board, it said "Data Transmission Error" or something like that, can't recall now. All is well and good now though.

GhoS you have a good point and I do agree with that. I guess it just hit me the wrong way. Seems these days, one can't do much at all without the need for a credit card.. Which incidently I do not own... So what is one to do? It hit me the wrong way because another site like this one did the same thing a while back.. Yes I love the work i've seen here! And I've always been one to be thankful for that! I have left comments with some too.. I didn't mean to start such a stink. But I was rubbed the wrong way.. (and Im sure i'll catch hell for that comment to)... Take care..

I must admit my reaction was similar to yours when I first saw that error message. I also had some issues with the 50 megabyte d/l limit. But in reality it all makes sense. This site doesnt run on comments and goodwill alone. I actually had to go without downloading anything from this site for 4 months while I scrounged cash for an ObjectDesktop subscription. Its really worth it though.

I admit, I'm a 27 year old loser wthout a credit card - so I got my "mommy" to pay for my subscription.. - you must know SOMEONE who can purchase one for you then reimburse later...no? -- Surely we all know someone with a credit card willing to front 20bux.
