Problem with Bootskins

Here is my problem...every BootSkin I set my computer to use comes out looking horribly wrong. Even if it is a skin I got from this site. The colors are just wrong, blue looks alomst like a grey. is there something I have to set in the BootSkins program to fix this, and if not what program do I need to get to edit them so they look right.

**Windows XP home SP1
nvidia FX 5200 set to 1024 * 768 at 32 colors

first of all I don't think you have your screen set at 32 colors. It doesn't matter anyway they only show up in 16. I don't know how to fix your problem though. bootskins are rather simple: two (maybe one) image and a itty-bitty ini file. So I doubt its something wrong with the bootskin itself. What it does sound like is that there is something wrong with your video driver/card. Update you video driver if possible or check your screen color settings. They might be set horribly off and you have a program that runs in the background of normal windows that changed the colors of the screen so it looks right. I haven't ever seen anything like this before so thats about as much help as I can give.

It would help if you linked to a specific skin, then we could check it out, there are some skins created wrongly and need to be adjusted by the authors, please let us know which skin causes the problem

the newer version of bootskin lets you preview the bootskin. load up the program and select the bootskin, and in the lower corner there is a button called preview. press it

I have the same video card, with no trouble. Maybe you should check your monitor settings for that resolution the boots use.
