Indirect paying for ObjecktDock?

WHy must i pay to be able to download icons and docklets for ObjecktDock when OD is free?
Because bandwidth cost money. Especially on a site this big.


As i see it i pay for OD indirect in this way...

Then you are more than welcome to start your own site and host all the icons and and docklets you'd like then you can download them all for free. We'll see just how long that lasts!! Get a clue, you don't HAVE to download icons or docklets in order to use OD. You are downloading icons and docklets for OD from here because you like the work that others have done and if you want to get the items from here then you can certainly chip in some to cover the bandwidth. Besides, you'd have to download a heck of lot of icons to reach the 50MB cap...

There are no free sites because bandwidth is expensive to have and maintain. even the previously "free" sites now insist on subscription for full access to their artwork.
the artists here work hard to create really beautiful artwork.
if you would like to though, there are tutorials around that will show you how to create your own artwork. Then it would be "free" for you , except for the long hours you put into creating.

So, you are complaining about a free program and 50megs of free stuff? 

If you buy anything from Stardock (even if it is small) the download cap is lifted.  Bandwidth costs money- somebody has to pay for it.

The only site with icons and stuff for OD is here and this site is not for free ...

There are tons of other places to get icons, especially PNG if ya use that format on your dock like I do. Heck my ObjectDock folder is over 500MB. I need help.

Anyway you don't have to get icons specifically labelled as "for OD". Remember, the dock will take .ico, .png and .bmp too I think.

And if you have a graphics program, you can convert into those formats and make you're own icons, so the possibility's are endless!
