Game only fun early game!

Pathetic AI pve boring gameplay

Unlike Sins 1 Sins 2 is only fun early game pve which is all I play co op with a friend. The game is great early game but as soon as we get fleets up every single game we have ever played of Sins 2 the AI just jumps on a sword and dies. Have we lost games in  Sins 2 yes but it is always early game loses never the mammoth battles like in Sins 1. We play a lot of random map games with ai at unfair and they are always blow outs with the usual tough in the early game and AI falls flat on its face late game. To me once you get a good sized fleet up just restart the game you will just roll over the AI every single time no matter what hardness setting you use since the hardness setting seems to do nothing.

Hello, we understand your frustrations and concerns. We try to tweak and improve the A.i between most updates, but understand that a more concentrated effort is needed. The focus of our next update is overhauling the A.I, and feedback from players during the test/opt-in period will be important when it arrives, do hope you'll give it a try and help us improve

This is my experience exactly and I hope the new AI improves here
The game is absolutely beautiful right up until the hour or so mark
If you're able to stabilize and hold until then, it just becomes a matter of taking a victory lap with your late game fleet
The AI does not know how to play late game with large fleets
I play on Impossible difficulty on a 4 player map, with 3 AIs allied on the same team (the highest challenge level possible)

This is my experience too.

More recently I have stopped the match once I got my fleet and won the first big encounter. There is no point in playing further as I know how it will end. The first stretch of a match is where 90% of the fun is.

I hope the new AI remedies this.

Late game on large maps also suffer from repetitive starbase and ship item clicking, templates would be fantastic, but can imagine maybe a bit tricky to implement.

Appreciate all your efforts, love this game ♥️

This is a very common issue with most space strategy games. The early expansion and exploration phase is incredibly engaging and fast paced. Once the borders lock in and it turns into massive late game fleet management, it can definitely feel like a chore. I really hope the developers introduce some more dynamic events to shake up the endgame and keep the pacing fresh.

Personalized templates for each unit that can benefit from them? Like Starbases? Yeah.
