Paint Shop Pro 9. Any Advice?

Ok, I'm completely bored with screenshots and am going to attempt to create. I just purchased PSP9 and am reading the book (seems fairly comprehensive). Just wanted to ask if any of the seasoned veterans (battlescarred) have any advice on using this software or creating images. Thanks in advance.

Reading the manual is an excellant first step. The next three steps are practice, practice......... and in your spare time, practice.
Remember layers are your friend......... save your work often during the creation process (or you'll be sorry some day)......... experiment, ask questions (in the Help section).......... take other skins apart, and study them............ that'll do for a start. (did I mention practice?)
