Well, might as well throw my hat in the ring. I'm running for the council in an effort to bring balance to the force. (Not for any selfish reasons of course. This is an altruistic run.... LOL, damn, couldn't keep a straight face.) Get out there and vote.

Master Yoda, considering our rise in membership of late, I suggest expanding the Council - perhaps to 10 members. If Sephlock is still absent when the nominations are voted on, that would allow for three new Senators.

We have nearly doubled in size as an Empire since the Senate cap was last increased to 8. Adding a few seats seems like a good idea.

What does being on the Senate mean? I suppose I'll run for the council.

Oh, congrats Qui-Gon for Chosen One status. And welcome to our new members, Morbutor and Crazy Leg. It's not often we see a pure good alignment. Good job on those games.

I'm trying to get the saxophone player from the Mos Eisley band if that is at all possible. That'd be awesome.

Ah, our first "cantina" band member. LOL

I think the game with the new patch is a little easier; it seems like if you trade with someone, they do not go to war as easily. I am playing a challenging game now and I am Pure Good; the Drengin are left and they are huge, but we are allies which is cool and funny. I don’t know if it is me, but it also seems like planets don't flip as quick as they did before in my current game.

Anyone else experienced things like this or something different? I stay up past midnight last night on 'date night' and I am paying for it now.

Yes, this is true. I remember someone (I think it was frogboy) saying that trade is a bigger factor in determining the A.I. attitute toward you. Your diplomacy ability is also more of a factor. So dipolmacy & trade are worth more than just making money and good deals, they keep you out of wars. This has been since the beta and I definitly take advantage of it as much as possible.

With new members and new submissions, we're solidly in seventh place at the moment, and are gaining a bit on the Euros. Despite being barely a third of their size. Kudos to all, and keep those submissions coming!

Btw, what does a council member do, beside going around, pointing a finger at self and say "A Jedi Cuncil Member I am" (Or not, I have no idea...)?

On strategy:

I have a beta (1.09) game in progress, so haven't yet updated. For those that have, are there any significant changes in AI behavior that I should know about? I'm getting the idea that trading and keeping the peace are a bit easier - both of which are welcome changes at the higher difficulty levels.

Realistically, all the Council members can do that the normal Overlords can't is promote other members and kick people out of the Empire if necessary.

"Emperor" - Yoda's post - takes the powers of a Senator and adds administrative privileges over the Empire itself - changing the name and logo, dropping Senators, etc. and setting the ground rules for the way the Empire works.

The primary reason we're pushing for some changes at the moment is to reward those who are active and contributing above and beyond the norm. Once you get past the administrative powers, Senate rank is just a way to show respect. And it's not bestowed by far-off Stardock, but by your fellow Jedi - just because we appreciate your efforts to help us all.

I upgraded directly from 1.05 to 1.1, so I am not sure whether this will be of help or not...
In the 1.1 game I had, the Torian, Yor, and Driegh(sp?) all surrendered themselves to me out of nowhere, giving me a total of ~12 okay quality planets. And of all the games I played before, I didn't have one AI surrender to me.
