Regarding the election, do we just post who we want to vote for here or...?
End of quote

Once start the election does (Thursday) [email protected] me your vote. Format is simple, fill in the blank:

I, Your name, am voting for Blank

f no one else decides to run for the council, does the council or Jedi Master Yoda just appoint someone to fill the slot? Or does that slot just remain open?
End of quote

In this senario, the current council, and those that are elected, draft a suitable Jedi to serve on the council.

2 days and counting!

Edit: changed voting as per email below

Obi Wan, the "Weather Control Pack" wasn't the one I was talking about, but if you want to you can put it on the site, too. I just submitted the Jedi one today; I'll let you know when I see it.

on Thursday, send your votes to Yoda at Email That lets us keep the whole "secret ballot" idea.
End of quote

Ah, too slow at my old age, you posted first, And I like your idea. [email protected] your one sentence ballot as described above and the vote will remain "anonymous"

BTW, Obi, another idea for the website I have, simple it is yet needed. A "Contact a Counciler" Page! A representative government with no way to contact the elected officials... :SURPRISED:

Admiral Sherbert: I'll keep an eye peeled for your new mod. I'll work the Weather Control Pack in later tonight if I get a chance.

Yoda, a Contact page would be OK - I have no objection. But I think most active Jedi are posting here in the Forum; our thread can generate discussions among all the members in a way that one email can't. Opinions, anyone?

Just trying to make it easier if someone has a question for one particular person in the Council. Particularly foreign diplomats... ;)

Can I nominate? I love the Jedis; I've always loved the Jedis. I promise to reward the trust shown in me and will lay down this power when the current leadership crisis is over. A wombat with my diplomatic and drinking skills would be invaluable to the Republic.... ;) :) LOL

I think this is a good idea - on Thursday, send your votes to Yoda at Email That lets us keep the whole "secret ballot" idea. Also lets Yoda keep track of who still needs to respond. If he still wants the Senate to confirm the winners, he can post it here. Sound fair?

Sounds great to me.

Hehe, what's wrong with it? It got all the benefit of a representative gov(people thinking they are in control), without all the bad stuff(people actually taking control). :D

I'll move along now...

I'll vote for the wild child...

A question, (putting down the saxophone) with all this talk about new members to the Jedi Council, I might be interested in putting my name in for a last minute candidacy if I knew what the duties and responsibilities of a councilmember were.

For some reason I couldn't access the galciv website yesterday, or even submit a score. Strange.

Anyway, welcome to our newest Sith Initiate, Lord Niknak. Follow me my apprentice, I will guide you in the proper way of the Dark Side.

The voting system seems simple enough. The "contact a councilmember" idea seems promising, although I dont know if everyone wants to throw their e-mails out there. I have no problem with it if I am elected.

Dont forget to vote tomorrow, and vote for me if you do. ;p

A council member is a leader of sorts for diplomatic and home missions. Such as being active on our forum, and representing the JR in other Empire's forums and in recruiment. That is the simplest definition of the duties. Others, including non-councilers can submit fan fiction, create mods using the mod maker by Hawaii5O, or just support the JR in general.

YOU can help make our Republic grand in many different ways.

Two Sith on the Council? Why not?

A pirate Senator might be awkward...but you've been a good neighbor and a frequent poster here, Wombie. Fellow Jedi, any objections to Wild Wombat becoming our next Honorary Jedi? The definition is:

"Those who have demonstrated ongoing and outstanding commitment to the Jedi Republic."

See http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/active3.htm for the current listing...

well, hi fellow jedi. Glad to join you, i really wasnt sure which empire i wanted to join tell my last post (well more like me ranting) about metaverse scoring. The actions of certain emporors in those threads, while trying to be helpful, turned me off about their empires (basically the totally unneccessary flame wars), while Obi Wan managed to avoid the flame waring all together.

Anyways, I was wondering if one would tell me do i post what i want my saber to be here, or do i email... say.... Obi Wan.

Welcome Black Shade! You can post what you want here; Obi Wan is always around and will read what you want and make the change when he has some free time.

Hell yeah, we are gaining influence. Everything is proceeding according to plan....

If only three people are running tomorrow, is voting actually necessary?
Ok, so there are 3 spots avalible. Me and Admiral Sherbert are definately running, but has numbtenor21's candidacy been made official? All he said is that he might be interested.

I, TheQuack, am voting for Wild Wombat.

Of course, it doesn't matter. With this whole "secret ballot" idea, even if Wombat wins, you'll throw out the result and put in one of your mates. Wombat's a fine leader, but you'll discriminate against him just cause he likes to wear a pirate hat. I thought you Judys were all about equal opportunity.

(:( (:( (:(

Didnt we have this problem when we had the first election? People from other empires nominating and voting? It was quit humorous. Anyway, if there are only two nominees, then I agree that elections are not really needed.

For my saber color... id like Mace Windu's saber hilt with a red blade. The current background is fine (empire logo) is fine.

Edit: And im tossing around the idea of maybe creating a couple guides (i.e. Maso tiny/small, Painful/Crippling Huge/Gigantic), wondering if those are needed or not.
