Also mayito, part of the problem with MWC is it is not as big as it looks. We have a good number of players who joined long ago but never posted or only posted once. Whereas the other top empires have many more active, high-scoring players than we do. Our problem is not lack of trying, it is lack of being able to attract more top players (which, given the 300k gap between us and GROSS, is what we would need to get any farther).

I think that we should merge MWC with the Jedi and create the most superior form of Republic, the balance to the Force, the Kings of the entire galaxy, and we could destroy the GROSS and the Rings in one suddenly attack, so come and embrace us under one flag, the flag of peace and equilibrium that The Force could bring using the talents and resources of the MWC.

Such a vast empire would dominate the entire metaverse with ease....

But we all know that such a thing would never happen :notsure:

The eldest Jedi masters have retreated into the shadows, consigning themselves to training and influencing future Jedi. But while the elder masters remain in isolation, a bolder generation of Jedi have taken the stage and are marching forth in the Meta. The Euros, a former superpower that once ruled the Metaverse, is destined to be cut down by light sabers if they do not act quickly. The Force does seem to be with the Jedi, but can they ultimately face the power of the Ring, the new superpower? That will be the true test.

Dang, Gerakken! That was awesome!

The Ring has turned its wheels once more looking at the cloud of dust growing in the distance, what could that be wandered the sorcerer looking with disbelief in his face. Inside his body his soul knew the truth, the Force hidden deep inside his heart was awakening, many of the other magis also felt the tremors of the Force rumbling in their souls, the end is near one of them exclaimed, the end is near the Old Master mumble to himself.

The Light has shone on the sky across the Ring empire and a bolt of electricity has made a dent in the front door of the castle. LOL

Watching through his crystal ball, vincible chortled.

"Hey Ray, get a load of this!" he shouted.

Ray glanced over from the scroll he was inking, then burst out laughing. Within seconds, the room was filled with a soft glow as dozens of mages activated their scrying devices.

"What in Gil-Galad's name does he think he's doing?" wondered Theoden.

The image they watched was that of a young Jedi knight. His callused palms betrayed his true origins--they were the hands of a farmer, not a Jedi. It was Mayito, a recent convert from the Mid-Western Confederation. He faced an enormous gate, the symbol of the Ring emblazoned proudly on it. Raising his hands, force-lightning leapt forth, leaving a small scorch on the Ring symbol. The lock rattled a bit, but was unharmed.

Mayito stalked up to the gate, grasped the lock, and looked at it closely. He pulled on it once, then dropped it and shook his fist at the ramparts above. Then he drew his light-saber. "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed," he said quietly. "The ability to lock a gate is insignificant next to the power of the Force." And he began slowly sawing through the lock with his saber.

"Why is he attacking that old place?" Matthew Downie wondered. "We abandoned that run-down castle over a million points ago."

"Yeah, and we left the key in the chrysanthemums right beside him," Ricbayer added.

The mages returned to work, keeping an eye on the crystal ball which informed them of Mayito's progress. After an hour, the steel finally gave out and the lock fell open. Mayito drew a deep breath, then shoved open the gate and burst into the empty castle shouting a Jedi war cry. "The Fellowship shall fall! Fear my midichlorians!"

The shout echoed down dark, empty hallways. There was no response.

"The cowardly mages have fled! Truly, the Jedi Empire have won a great victory today!" Mayito laughed, giddy with triumph. And the mages laughed with him.

You're not the only ones with that problem, I think. Apart from the Posse, and Pontius, I doubt there are many regular submitters for GROSS these days. I think FOTR probably have the highest proportion of regular players, and score well because most of them play at maso. It's been great to see the Realms Beyond players arrive, although the Metaverse seems to have atrtracted precious few other newbies to the cause.

I've been on a business trip in Germany. Great sausage, better beer, insane ideas of what constitutes an automobile. I was tempted to bring home a "Smart Car" just to see if it would really fit into the trunk of a Mini...

However, my attempts at an Internet connection failed miserably. I did get in a few games, though, and will be posting them when I dig them out of my laptop - probably tomorrow. At the same time, I'll read through the 5 pages of Forum posts that I've missed!

Anyway, my interior clock is still on German time, so I'm a bit wiped out at the moment. I had to go into work today (overtime, no less), so I've weaseled my way into getting an R&R day tomorrow. I'll be working on updating the website with all of the changes to make our new members feel more at home.

Thanks for the kudos on the website, although pretty much everybody here has had their say on customizing it. I may do the grunt work, but think of it as a group effort. Remember, if you'd like a persona "mugshot" on the website, just ask here and let me know what you have in mind. Custom lightsaber rules are simple: Jedi Masters get a custom handle if they want it (some ideas are here: http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/sabers1.jpg - or any handle-looking pic that you already have), and anyone higher than a Master can also pick their blade color.

Obi Wan, I was thinking - we talk about the Imperial Fleet sometimes, why not create another list of players who are in the Fleet. Maybe put their ship's names with them, too. What do you think?
