Adding A Printer...

I have an HP 4125 All-In-One, (fax, scanner, copier, & printer) and I'd like to add this to my bar, but trying to find the correct path for JUST the printer has me baffled. Does anyone know what I should be looking for?

I've gone through: C Drive > Program Files > HP >.... but all the folders and subfolders have me confused

See if you have a shortcut in the (Start panel-All Programs) menu. If you do, just right-click on the shortcut, click properties and then press the (Find Target) button. A window should open and show the path.
Hope that helps.

I've got lots of HP shortcuts that open up in the all programs... lol I even did an on-line chat with Tech Support (try explaining OB to someone in India) lol...

He wasn't able to help me either... he directed me to a Directory that opens up everything. but in the Directory he sent me to only brings up an Image Viewer, that doesn't have a print option Grrr

Thanks for the help Z71

Hopefully I can figure something out lol

Control Panel/Printers and Faxes. Right click, explore/open. Drag "Printer" (leave the "Fax" there if you don't want it) to the Desktop (or create shortcut in control panel and it will put it to the desktop). Drag or link to the shortcut. The scanner is located under 'Scanners and Cameras' in case you want to shortcut them.

BTW: the files you were looking for are here: C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\AiO\Shared\Bin

Developer yrag... I did your Control Panel / Shortcut to the desktop one...

as there wasn't that other path in my Hewlett-Packard folder, That only contains On-Line Reg & Update links

Everything else is in a seperate folder marked 'HP'. And that path wasn't there either

Thanks for your help Z71 & yrag

Glad you got the shortcut...you'll never find the right file (it appears they've changed where they use to keep the bin files...what a surprise). You don't need the file anyway. The shortcut to a printer points to the 'Port' not an 'exe'.
