Evil Empire's infernal thread

Evil Empire's infernal thread

ok, i did it; the first evil-only empire is now open (to evil people only of course)!!!

the rules are simple, you must have an overall morality of ether "chaotic evil", or "very evil" -anyone with a good, neutral, or no morality (because they haven’t submitted any games yet), are not allowed to stay in this empire. every few days, i will go through the empire, deleting anyone who does not have an evil morality. if you are deleted, it does not mean that you are banned, it just means that i wont let you stay in my empire until your overall morality becomes evil again. members are still allowed to play and submit games with a "good" morality, however, just make sure that your "good" and "neutral" games don’t change your morality to anything other then "evil".

i will be looking for some empire admins once a few people join my empire. if you do become an empire admin, one of your duties will be to delete any "neutral", "good" and no morality members.

if you are evil, come join the metaverse’s first “evil-only” empire. who knows, you just might get lucky and become an empire admin ;)

I will love to come and join your empire to teach you the ways of the good path, but at the doors of your empire I saw a sign that said "Not goodie two shoes are allowed" so I returned back to my ship and left. LOL LOL LOL

I actually went through it, twice.
Both times at home, with just a mid wife.
For the second one, she was too late.
Just my husband and I alone.
Very moving experience.
The most significant experience of our lives.

I think I am going to shift my line after I reach 100 good games, I am close to it, I want to finish a strike of 100 good games and then I want to do 100 evil games to see what new techs that line has. ;) Maybe then I will come and join your empire for a while to teach the ways of The Force. ;)

Don't forget the classy red control panels, the cooler music, the great looking news robot, and the Torian slaves you would get! I just love it when the interface turns red ;)

shoo fly! damn goodies try to tell us whats good! LOL

my computer? not enough ram. the only good thing about this computer was that it was cheap, but thats about it.

ram is fairly affordable now, so i just have to convince my gf that we should part with $70 to make our computer better. anyone can install more ram with their eyes closed, however, if i open the case myself, i void the warranty, so i would have to pay the shop from where i got it to put the ram in. i dont really want to do that, since i got the computer from "future shop". i relize my mistake now, i should have listend to my freind who used to work there, never buy a built computer from future shop.

next computer i get, im building it myself, that way i can play around with it as i wish, i dont have to worry about voiding some warrenty that i will probably never use. i find it pathetic that i never built my own computer yet, i know how, anyways, im studing in the electronics field, which gives me no excuse for not building my own computer yet.

I don't bother with building them. They are too cheap right now. I just bought a dell through their overstock/refurb center. If you are patient you can nab really good deals.

As for the warranty, it is up to you. I have always said the heck with it and popped it myself. Have you had it for a while? If so, and everything else seems ok it may be worth thinking about. How much time is left on the warranty. If only a few months another worth thinking about.

If you do it yourself, just be careful around the mother board, discharge the static electricity and DIY it.

How much ram do you have? What is the processor speed? I jumped from a 233 with 64 megs of ram to a 2.4ghz with 256 megs. I just could not stand being in the dark ages anymore. ;)

Heck, I bought one computer for my son a couple years ago and voided the warranty adding ram the next day. Still runs great. It is up to you. Just my advice...

You can get RAM very cheap at Best Buy, I got some 256 ram for just $45. So depends, you must check for special and now on the holiday season they have quite a few good bargains around. ;)

A bit of advice: don't.

I buy my computers from the best place I possibly can--I build them myself ;)

For what I do it is just fine. This is the second dell I have bought and they run/work fine. Anyway, I really am not sure how to put one together for myself. I would not even know how to get the right motherboard, processor, and all the what nots that go with it. Sure, I can change/add cards and swap drives and such but boards and jumpers... don't know enough to start with all the pieces.... :notsure:

Most mobos anymore need no jumper configuration, so all you'd need to worry about as far as jumpers go is setting up your drives for master/slave.

As long as I can play GalCiv I am fine ;) I don't need superb sound (I get yelled at :D for it anyway "turn it down, don't you get sick of hearing that music?") and GalCiv is about the heaviest requirement game I have so the video card is just fine. I mostly play TBS/RTS and my favorites all play just fine.

I started in computer gaming with nothing more than a computer speaker years ago for sound, so believe me, I am quite happy! As long as the darned thing turns on when I want it to, and does what I ask it to do, I am quite happy.

My brother and I built our own...well we took parts from the current machines we had. I put in a new motherboard, processor, ram, and graphics card.

Jumped from a PIII rated at a little below a 1.3 to a 2.0 PIV and 768 ram. Sweet.

What others? I love AoE and AoM

I play Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, Civ2 and 3, Alpha Centauri,MOO3, and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (uses the Age of Kings engine). I also enjoy the oldies of Space Empires 3 and Stars!. Right now I am set on GalCiv primarily.

I had thought of having my son help build one for me but when I would price everything out (I had to get it all, case, board, everything) it was cheaper to get the Dell and play with it later. Sure they have on board sound and video but they work fine for me. That plus impatience :) I can take a couple months to pay off the Dell rather than save for a couple months, you know how it is... ;)

You can get a Dell computer and tweak a little to better suite your needs and still you will get a good deal.
Which is what I did. I can add a better sound card or video card if I want, the slots are there. They work great. I think they get unfairly bashed at times. They are great for an average user like me. A high end gamer may need more but that's not me.

Stars! aah i remember that game. still got it in my library. if i remember correctly, it required a bl***y huge screen resolution or you couldnt see everything. played with that game for months when first got it. did you get the pack where you got a second one free?

I bought it on half.com for $5. It had the manual and one cd. I have seen the dual pack before for sale but did not get it.

Not too bad. I played it on a 15" at 1024x768 and it was ok. They provide a good way to play with the UI so it fits well. It is better on a 17" though. The problem with Stars! is it is not fun by yourself against the AI. No diplomacy at all.

I tried a PBEM game but the doggoned thing went for over a year. Not worth it.

when i first got it my pc then would only produce 600x800 res. had hell of a time playing it. :)
was very indepth game for its time though. by todays standards its the equivalent of the old atari cartridge player (the one with the paddles) LOL .

Lord Megatron: Did you get the picture I sent?

The depth of Stars! was and still is very great. The graphics are virtually nonexistent though. They were trying to update the game but the whole project is stalled, has been, and is probably going to die in the long run.
