The ANZAC Republic

The ANZAC Republic

Hi,

It gives me great pleasure to Announce that the reconciliation and merger of the ANZACs and The Australian Republic is now Complete, NeverNever has signed all the merger Documentation and it has been Accepted by all those in the Australian Republic. The Documentation Signing was witnesed by many other Citizens of the Metaverse. It's like a who's who of the metaverse here tonight.

We still havn't decided on a flag but we are sure that we will come to a solution soon

It is a tremendous honour to be the emperor who has successfully inspired, negotiated and signed with the emperor of the Australian Republic this historic Document to bring the whole of Old Australia and NewZealand back together. {BlueSteel Shakes the Hand of Never Never for the press to take a photo)

Let the Celebrations Begin.

A huge explosion blasts the atmosphere as the psycodelic Plasma fireworks fill the space viewports from "The A.S.S" .

Steve: "I guess we should rename this fine vessel"
BlueSteel: "Why"
Steve: "To include the new Republican name"
BlueSteel: "No I like the name A.S.S. it has a Kick to it"
Steve: "I was thinking of the A.R.S.S. that is the Australian Republic Space Ship"
BlueSteel shakes his head holding the bridge of his nose and gives out a sigh... "No Steve don't even suggest such a thing"

I've been a bit slack lately . Had a bit of galciv burnout plus my sister visiting from Africa! Once the xpack comes out on tuesday(?) with its score boosting for maso - I'll start trying to pull my weight again.

Wow, some peoples have been putting in some major action, good to see . . . great job all, I hope your all having fun. Thanks for the AnzRep/Euro update bakka, still seems a long road though, I guess we could really use a few new recruits about now . . . wimper, wimper sniff . . . hehe.

Hehe wOOt! I snuck into 4th place with a few lazy (painful) games . . . those diminishing returnes are starting to really hurt . . . mmm lets see . . . a 19500 score yeilds a 2700 increase in Meta-score . . . not a complaint, just an observation.

Damit! I wish I can remember exactly how I got over 20k in that one game about a week ago . . . Hang a sec, ah I remember now . . . had something to do with a massive multiple ground invasion (didn't even finish the last few techs either) . . . as opposed to the ussual Terror Star anilhilation I tend to favor. Interestingly large troop deployments seem to add to the end millitary score a fair bit (since I rarely build offensive ships this squares up that issue . . . kewl).

Sorry I haven't been too sociable lately . . . my new jobs very demanding (not to mention my family). I've missed reading all those stories and banter alot . . . hopefully come Halloween I'll be working part-time again (fingers-crossed).

The new icon is very nice by the way . . . catch up with you all sometimesoon, have a great week! :)

"Right! " roared Emperor BlueSteel, "I've had enough!"

The rest of the ANZACs raised their weary heads from the endless task of sharpening the cutlery.

"Not that I'm not impressed by the way you lot are toiling away at the Euro's," roared BlueSteel approvingly, "but where's the fun? where's the witty repartee? where's the frisson? where's my wallet?"

Evil Steve handed over the royal kangaroo gonad which a sheepish grin.

"What we need," roared BlueSteel inspirationally, "is some kind of ripping yarn, a bit of derring do, a sort of a fight-them-on-the-beaches, tunnel, barbwire, suit-made-from-cardboard-and-shoe-polish escapade to lighten up the troops in the trenches. What we need is...."

BlueSteel paused reverentially as the words of power rose from his lips like a perfumed orchid on a hot day.

"What we need is a new ANZAC legend!"

"Huzzah!" roared the ANZACs floridly.

"Right Evil Steve!" roared BlueSteel religiously, "herewith the Teaspoon of Endless Toil, the Wooden Horse of Endless Gymnastic Fortitude, and......"

The ANZACs bowed their heads as BlueSteel raised the cloth high.

"The Trousers of Endless Soil Capacity!" roared BlueSteel approvingly.

The sacred objects weighed on Evil Steve like an Mafia burial - the responsibility, the honour, the inability to swim. "Sire," stuttered Evil Steve, "I am not warty."

"Rise up Evil Steve!" roared BlueSteel insistently, "for you have the stuff of legend! Pick two of my finest ANZACs for your mission to glory. I insist."

BlueSteel gripped Evil Steve in the Fatal Hug of Mateship.

Evil Steve cast his bulging eyes over his fellow ANZACs - these men and women of steel, these soldiers of disrepect, these desert rats.

The mighty Cotal, lithe and supple in her golden threads, poised, as if in the moment of death, her hands, the hands of death to all that she touched.

The mighty Newfy, powerfully muscled and with only a slight tendency to put on women's clothing, gripped his axe as if it was his last love on Earth, this bringer of death, this slicer of life.

DeSilva the murderer of masochistics, Never-Never, the ender of imperial reigns....

Who would Evil Steve choose. Which two would become the stuff of legend?

TO BE CONTINUED

Come now, I'm sure I can put together an epic tale of your escape from the Fatal Hug of Mateship to the arms of your intergalactic pirate mates! LOL LOL LOL

And hey - I don't think any of the Posse would wish anything but good for the ANZACs, mate. Cheers! :)

s it just my computer picking on me.. or if i make everyone bright and one ai the next level up.. Do they seem to right up near you (I've just tried 6 or so large maps and have been flat out getting 6-8 systems with the computer getting all of the others.

Also I can't seem to get ahead of them in tech or social production anymore.. :(

I need help with these harder levels.. plx (no wonder I get clobbered on masso.. if i can't handle these levels)

LOL Cotal.. evil Steve wrote that.. he put words into my mouth... LOL But he is right we have to do something.. the Euro's outnumber us by more than 2 to 1. they can take it turns while we flog ourselves to within inches if burning out.

We definatly have them on the run (almost overtaking the Canadians) trying to keep their 100k buffer zone between us

Even if we don't succeed I recon that we are all doing great stuff... just not good evough yet.. but we will get there..

Calling ALL ANZAC Reserves and inactive overlords.. du your buit for the Republic. and most of all have fun

Anyone have any advice on how to get high scores on Tiny / Small maps ? I just don't get it how some people do it. The largest I can play is medium maps as my computer was built using stone knives and twine made out of wood, straw and frog brains.

Thanks.

I usually colonize any planet that has PQ over 12 at the end of the game. I would spend good two hours build as much improvement as I can by placing two to four full manufacturing force starbases around the sector. Then I kind of wait for the timing when my cultural influence is almost at peak then I finish my last AI with full force I've been prepared. I usually end up getting 13000-14000 points with Tiny ro Small.

time being a premium, i've developed the frigate rush, 1.5 hour special on small, abundant, military conquest, using the shag the AI for tech money principle. it generates around 6K points, which is nothing BUT in 4.5 hours you've got 18K points which is a LOT quicker than doing a big map and playing out till the end. Winning on frigates is quite easy/quick/interesting cos you ain't getting bored trying to squeeze out the maximum points.

just a thought from the front

I tried doing the culture starbase thing to see if it pushed up my score a bit. I usually populate all the PQ13 and PQ14 planets left over towards the end of the game to bump up my population. My score was not much better.

My style used to be "do everything I could to get frigates and go to war". Now it is a mix of EBZ cranking by getting all the trade and wonders tech selling early then go to war. I never trade anymore unless I take planets that have a trade route on them.

Carful mates.. I smell a trap... The Euro's are Teasing us.. they are just staying out of range on purpose.. be on your toes expect anything...

(They are being very cleaver.. keeping about 100k buffer) save your amo (games) till you have a few to post.. then post them all one after the other.. That way they won't know how many points they need to stay ahead.. (unless they too read this.. and can work out about how many games each of us is holding back)

This is turning into a battle of Stratagy.. not bruit force.. Brain power over muscle

PS: don't forget to save all your games prior to ending.. or close to the end .. so that if you loose the endgame.. then you won't have much to make up

The ship 'Black Storm' went sub light and briefly appeared in the sector where the Anzac ships were known to frequent.
Rainbird activated the Particle Cloud around her ship and it blended with the background. All EM spectrum transmissions were absorbed and nothing reflected.
It became one of many black areas in space.

She searched passively,for any transmissions.
Unsure of the reception should there be an Anzac ship in the vicinity.
Any Alien ship, would of course be attacked, evn if it did reveal her prescence.

Please come back so the metaverse does not suffer. (:(
