Terl, after one too many...well alright then! Six or seven too many :) leaned over to confide in Greldon.

"Yeah, been concerned about him myself today. Kinda acting like old Numph did when I had that nice bit o'leverage on him . Almost been thinkin' 'bout joinin' up wit' you fellas. Them hobbits seem like good folks, not like the rat brains I dealt with before. I been hearin' the stories tonight about some of the battles you folks have been in--kind of impressive" Terl shifted and took another drink. "Lord, I do miss my kerbango!"

"Anyway", he continued, "I figure I could help out a bit when those Uruk-Hai come around and also those caped fellows...blaster'll get 'em"

"Bah, enough of this for now. Time to get some mutton. I'm hungry now, y'all want any food?" :D

LOL LOL Get away from there Terl, they are mixing your drinks (I mean spiking your drinks) with something evil, come back to the Temple at once, our proximity to the FOTR without having finish our quest is affecting our minds, we must find The Light before we can associate with the wizards. LOL

Good night every one it is time for me to go home, 10 hours of work are enough. But I had a big deadline, chatting with you all make my day go fast, wish you all the best. Talk to you later, maybe from home. ;)

Terl, we'd gladly welcome a worrior such as yourself into our empire. As you know, our door is always open (which facilitates coming and going).

Enjoy the weekend. :HOT:

Hey Greldon why don't you come and join us, we could have some great time all together, seems that not a whole a lot of people with the exception of you and Theoden are hanging around lately. Bye ;)

Terl is enjoying his new friends and insolently waves a paw of feigned acquiescence in the general direction. He reaches for a fine piece of mutton and claps Greldon on the shoulder with his other paw. "C'mon lad, dig in, eat up, and enjoy!"

"Bah, there's no evil in this drink nor in this food," Terl said to those at his table. "No, here there's comraderie, tales of bravery, tales of old, and tales of glories yet to be!"

Man, I go away for a few days and what happens? The message board is full of spam and puke (not the most appetising combination) and our lead over the SF is down to a few points.

Terl: It is good for two warriors to share drink (head spinning while trying to focus on two images of Terl) and stories as we did last night at the Prancing Pony. I hope I didn’t say or do anything I shouldn’t have.

Terl, I really do think Emperor Seeker Master suffered extensive brain damage from our secret weapon. First he babbles something about not needing guns to crumble the FotR Empire. He also stated that Theoden and myself, seemed to be the only Fellowship members around these days and then asked me to defect! Let me assure you, my loyalty to FotR can’t be swayed, and while our council may have been quiet lately, my faith in them remains. I fear for the fate of the Empire of the Light if your Emperor’s condition continues to degrade.

I offer as proof of my loyalty and the resolve of The Fellowship of the Ring to maintain it’s position in the Metaverse, a 60K tidbit I just submitted!

Have a nice day! :HOT:

Good grief, what happened to the FotR thread? Compared to a month or two ago, I don't recognize the place. How many spam and dog vomit posts can you pack in here? LOL

Looks like you need to get back to 4mil before you can move on to 5mil.

Terl woke up and tried to remember exactly where he was. There was a party going on around him. He seemed to remember vague bits of wild rantings interspersed with joyful, rambuntious comraderie and fellowship. Yes, he remembered now! Greldon, what a fine warrior and definitely one to have covering your back.

Terl reached for his drink, tossed it back, and decided, kerbango or not this stuff was pretty doggoned good. He rose from the table, stretched and wandered off to get another drink and a bit of food.

Yes, he knew Greldon was loyal to FoTR and he could now see why as he watched those in the inn jovially carrying on and sharing stories of great fights and quests. He wondered now why his emperor had gone on so last night, and wondered what the Seeker was up to and what his aims were. Too much thinking! Terl got his drink and joined in a tale of someone named Bilbo. He knew not who this Bilbo was but the tale was long and filled with great valor.

He spotted Greldon and rose his mug high in a salutory fashion to congratulate Greldon on his great victory last night.

Perhaps it began when Seeker overheard Theoden and I discussing Theoden’s discovery of the LIGHT. Theoden was right, by the way ….. I’ve just returned from procuring supplies and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t right there! About half way down isle 4, on the left, third shelf from the top, directly under the Chicken of the Sea Tuna, and just left of the potted meats, shining like a beacon …….. SPAM LITE! I swear to you Terl, this is the truth!

Or maybe it’s nothing more than the trauma he suffered when our secret weapon was deployed ….. I still haven’t found out who deployed the weapon in the first place. There was no order given by the council, and no overlord will admit to deploying the weapon. No one can figure out how our security was breached, but after learning of Seeker’s knowledge of cloning technology, I wonder if perhaps our security was breached by a clone of one of our officials, and something went terribly wrong causing the weapon to deploy unexpectedly? I suppose we’ll never know.

It could simply be that the stress of leadership is more than he can withstand, and is crumbling under its weight.

Oh well …. We can hope the passing of time will help him regain his path.

By the way, congratulations on your rise to Chaotic Good!

Wombat came downstairs and looked at the mess scattered over the Prancing Pony's bar. Terl was just managing to lever himself up off the floor, while Greldon passed a bleary eyed wave of greeting from his position slumped near the fireplace. Terl's white seeker robe was stained with...stuff. Ah, these kids can't hold their mulled wine, thought Wombat...thank goodness Theoden isn't here to see this. He'd heard that Theoden had gone off wenching...and now was the perfect time for a little sabotage....

Slowly the door of the Prancing Pony's Bar opened letting a strange figure covered with a white robe enter thru, the figure approached the table where Terl was siiting with his head resting on the table where the drinks we scattered.

Suddenly the figure uncover the hut that was concealing his identity. Master Terl the figure spoke, it is me, The Seeker Master, what has happened here? Terl with a very low voice explained to the Seeker Master the events of the day. The Seeker master shook his head and said to Terl, sorry old friend, I just arrived here, my ship was sabotaged by a changeling disguised as one of our crew members, we were unable to capture him and we were stranded at the Urhkarkha system for a while, after repairing the ship we were able to track the Changeling to this planet and according with what you have told me, I see that he has been around here, but don't worry my old friend we already captured him and are delivering him right now to the Drenging Empire where he has some debts to pay.

I have seen strange things happening here, but I was unable to reach you on time to warn you about the changeling. Lets go all friend, it is time to go home. While you were absent we were able to recover the Second Key and now we have the plans for the next Key.

Sorry friends of the FOTR for this misunderstanding and my apologies for any damaged caused by the impostor who assumed my personality and created so much trouble for both of our empires, be aware of one thing there are more of those changeling around here. We have developed a psiochronic device that will help us and anyone who has possesion of it to detect the presence of these spies. As a gesture of gratitude for taking care of Terl during my absence I am sending one of the prototypes to your security forces.

The old figure took the tired body of his friend and carried him to the spaceship parked outside the bar, silently his figure disappeared in the darkness of the night. ;)

Greldon awoke to the sound of footsteps descending the stairs at the Prancing Pony. As the fog of the prior night’s revelry began to lift, he could see Terl slumped over next to his half full tankard, snoring peacefully. Apparently, Terl and I were the only ones remaining … but wait, the footsteps? I turned my eyes to the sound of the creaking stairs and realized it was Wild Wombat coming down the stairs.

I half-heartedly waved to Wombat as he reached the bottom of the stairs. He paused momentarily at the foot of the stairs to survey the room. A sudden wave of anxiety swept over me as I saw a slight grin appear on the face of Wombat as he moved towards the door. I don’t know what caused this sudden apprehension, but I do remember (I think?) that Seek Master claimed it had been Special Forces who provided him with the antidote to the secret weapon. How could Special Forces develop an antidote to a weapon that no knew existed? Did Wombat provide Seeker with the cloning technology as well? There are many unanswered questions.

As Wombat exited the Prancing Pony, Greldon rose to follow. He looked out the door just in time to see Wombat duck into the alley behind the Empire of Light embassy …..

What is this? The FotR? Or the Jedi Republic? That was Obiwan's line. :) More or less. :)

Theoden had spent the evening in a comfortable room entertaining his favorite wench, Lady Nicole. Ahh, the effects of their favorite ale made the time spent intoxicating to say the least! After feasting on a 16 oz slab of beef, cooked to perfection, the two retired back to their home for a more intimate setting. With the child whisked away by the in-laws, the home felt more secluded and quiet. The rest of the evening was spent in..well...suffice to say the evening went very, very well indeed!

The morn brought snowy sunlight beaming into the windows of the home, causing Theoden and his lady to rise and prepare to meet the coming day. After a hearty breakfast of eggs and toast, the two readied themselves to bring their child home.

We had a great time last night! Gonna go pick up the baby in a bit and maybe do a little shopping. Great job on the 60k and the party at the Pony, Greldon! Looks like the barmaids will be busy for hours cleaning up this mess! LOL

>:(
It is an inversion of my motto, 'In winning, we lose' - the title of one of my old stories (http://fotr.galciv.org/story2.htm).
Incidentally, when the Jedi reached the position of number one empire, they split up and never recovered. In winning, they lost. In losing, we won. The Fellowhip has remained at the top for so long precisely because we don't care too much about 'winning'. If we did, we'd have lost interest as soon as soon as our goal was achieved. Let us see which guiding principle is ultimately victorious; the elitism of the Special Forces, or Fellowship.

Terrible times we are living now my good friend an entire army of clonned changelings have been detected around the Metaverse, no one knows for sure whom they are working for, but since The Empire of The Light started its quest this army was activated. Must be very careful, use the device I provided you with and you will find who your friends are and who are foes.

I am sorry for any damage that this spy may have caused between our empires. I am going back to my ship, my friends at the Temple discovered two changelings there, but they were detected before they did any harm. So watch your back and test all, by their fruits you shall recognize them. (Scroll of Wisdom) ;)

Yup, well said.

vincible has spent the last few weeks ensconced in his tower, deep in study and contemplation. He seeks an understanding of the basic forces which run our universe. For soon, he will face a great test, and he must be ready.

On the other hand, vincible is getting pretty fed up with his studious lifestyle and wants to go kick some Drengin butt. Perhaps tonight he will find the time to do so.
