Empire Websites

I've managed to register galciv.org - and will host (free!) any empire websites as subdomains on that domain - eg jedirepublic.galciv.org or fotr.galciv.org - no adverts, no popups, plenty of space.

Server is a Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP box (basically RedHat Linux 7.3) with ample bandwidth.

If you are interested, please email me or post here with your email.

PS - how do you get an email link to work here - it doesn't seem to work for me!!!

The e-mail works, I just sent you one, let me know if you got it.

Probably won't - it doesn't like either the hyphen in my main domain or the subsidiary .info domain.

I can provide a simple (and limited) browser based wysiwyg interface otherwise it is up to you. The offer is to host on a nice domain....

Alex I have my website created with Microsoft Publisher 98, will that work for you?
Mail sent.

If you can FTP the site, it should all work - so Pub98 shouldn't be a problem.

Alex,

Drop me an email at [email protected] . I should be able to ZIP the entire JR website into a nice tidy package for you.

On a sidenote, I'm looking to get out from under the JR website maintenance duties, except possibly as a contributor. It's clear to me that I've really been putting too much time into that thing, which has helped to make me over-sensitive to other issues going on around here. However, I used FrontPage to build it and not many people seem to have the program or much experience with it.

Care to volunteer?

I have Frontpage 2000 (yuck), Dreamweaver 4, and I do web work by hand... unfortunately, I'm not a Jedi :P

Nope.

But I play one in the metaverse. :)

http://idle.thehueys.com/midwest/empireapp.php

I currently run the MWC http://idle.thehueys.com/midwest site from a Mandrake 9.0 box, PHP/mYSQL.

Planted on a full T1 :D

But not for too much longer. I may take you up on your offer.

Shoot me an [email protected] and we'll chat :)

Thanks,
idle

Ahh the eternal struggle of vi vs. emacs makes its way to the GalCiv forums... and the victor shall be... METAPAD!! (Used to dual redhat but I never did much on it... even when I terminal in to the school servers I just type in metapad then paste it into viM :P)
