Waiting for moderation

I just have a couple of questions because I haven't been doing this for very long and I'm not really sure how things work around here.

Why is it that some icons are uploaded to the site even through they're "created" date is later than others that are still in moderation? Is this the usual practice for moderation?

Specifically, I created an icon on 1/31/05 and it's still in moderation, which is fine because I know it takes 5 days for approval. Someone downloaded it yesterday and yet it still hasn't been approved. I've seen other icons from new users that are dated 2/1, 2/2 and 2/3. For instance, there's a Sony Clie icon that was created on 2/3.

I'm posting this in case there are others who have the same question.

Thanks.

ico, and png..... shouldn't this be uploaded to the ObjectDock library? by Koasati [2/2/2005]

That'll be the concern. Icon files are 'ico', nothing else.

Other proggies might use 'png'....but an ico is an ico.

It probably doesn't matter either way, but it gives the impression the upload might have been to the wrong section...in error...

I believe I'm the one who downloaded it, and left a question for the other Mods, wondering if the Misc Icon library should have ico, & PNG files. The library is for ICONS, and my thinking is it should only contain icons. ICO & PNG should be uploaded to the ObjectDock library. My reasoning is this...... OD can use both formats, but people downloading Misc Icons, should only be downloading ico files, since png can't be used for your normal icons. These are the sort of situation that delay some uploads.......

Aha! I told you I was new! (Which is the excuse I have for not knowing what I'm doing!) So, if I were to upload just png it would go to misc icons, but for png AND ico it should go to Object Dock?

Since I've updated it, I'll just wait for the updated one.

Thanks, Jafo! I appreciate the quick responce!

I think it does matter. If we're going to allow both formats uploaded to both libraries, they will become redundant.

No..... only ico should be uploaded to the Misc Icon library.
