I'm morbidly curious about MOO3.

Don't be.
Can we get this thread back on track? We should be talking about the GalCiv patch in here.
That's the danger of telling players you'll have something ready, then your target date slips. Releases, patches, you name it, that's a bad thing. Better off to say less and undershoot the expectations than to say something that can't be delivered.
Patch 1.12 actually does have a lot of good points, and some changes that deserve attention, but NONE of that is getting any airtime because people won't shut up about the UP thing. And I must admit, I have been playing other games for the last two weeks, in large part because a minipatch to fix this was due "any day now", so why invest more time without the UP as part of the game, when a fix is right around the corner? Only that didn't turn out to be the case, and now I've gone weeks with very little GalCiv. I miss it.

Yet we are still stuck on "any day now" for the patch, so day by day, I avoid playing, with no idea when a patch is really going to come.
We were supposed to get 1.2 before Xmas. At this point, the entire concept of a minipatch before that looks dead, de facto. The question in my mind now is:
Is the 1.2 patch still on track? Or are we only going to get the minipatch, late, with the whole "patching calendar" pushed back?
