Photoshop colors?

I seem to have a slight problem with the gray colors in photoshop. Seems they look a little bit on the purple side. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Can be a monitor issue...if all colours tend to look 'off' in the same spectrum...

Are you 100% sure it is ONLY phtotoshop? Anyway if it is, RGB/CMYK most likely isn't your issue, go to View/Proof Setup, and try putting it on Monitor RGB. That will only change what is displayed, to change which one you're working with, go to Image/Mode, and you'll see the options there. You'll for 99.9% of the time want to be working in RGB, if you need CMYK convert it at the end, and if you need grayscale, just desaturate so you don't lose some of your editing features.

Only the ones in the color pallette(don't know if it's spelled right) anyway have a purplish tint to them. But if you click on foreground color and pick it that way it's alright Any way to change the colors in the pallette so the grays are actually gray and not a little bit purple?

try calibrating you monitor. depending on which photoshop,you do this differently, but if you search your adobe help you should find it. 4.0 had the best, but i've yet to get it to work with xp. good luck!

set your desktop to your best gray you can get before starting to calibrate, it makes a world of difference.
