Detaching start panel - how to?

im a little confused, i have the program "Object Bar"...but how do you get the start menu panel to detache from the task bar as ive seen in a lot of screen shots?
any help or ideas appreciated

Click on the programs tab, then slowly move your mouse down until it change to the resize, move down another micron & left click and drag.

Takes me a couple of tries to grab it and not object bar itself. It doesn't stay tho.
Maybe it was just pulled out for the shot?

Maybe there's a way to make it stay, I just don't know it.

In Desktop X, there is an option to hide the taskbar, then to see your Start Menu, just hit your "Start" button on your keyboard...or you can drag it to hide it also as bichur said, if you do it as bichur said, the Start Menu will appear at the top of the screen, if you hide the taskbar with Desktop X, the Start Menu will show at the bottom of the screen, hope this helps

ok, that must have been it, it seemed to me there used to be an option in one of the programs to add "start" to a right click on the desktop and your start menu would appear no matter where on the open desktop you clicked...who know, might have been a fluke!

Some Desktop X themes and the RightClick program both can put your Start Menu into the Right Click menu. However it's not the same Start Menu as is attached to the Windows Taskbar. Also, with Object Dock there is a couple of docklets that will bring up your real Start Menu seperate from your taskbar.
I also seem to remeber a couple of Object bars that were re-created Start Menus and taskbars. I haven't used Object Bar for a couple years but it seems like one was Z71's Green Eyes.

Also if you have the Start Menu Docklet for OD, when you use it your Start Menu will be detatched.
