Sound don work Desktopx or natural desktop

For some reason my sounds I associate with icons in desktop x wont work neither will the sounds in natural desktop
all my other windows sounds work I can play music etc everything else is fine. Any ideas as to what to do? I have uninstalled and reinstalled desktop x with no change.

I have the same problem with my objects Wendi,
My sounds used to work, but then I updated, and the only way they would work is to click>hold the cursor on the object. Otherwise the sound would be stopped abruptly. The only way I semi-solved it was by resetting the object (found in the animations tab), and re-attatching the sound, but it only works some of the time, and once my cursor leaves the "visible area" of the object it stops. It's a real pain in the ass cuz I have awesome sounds (Bruce Campbell-Army of Darkness one liners) and a few Futurama ode to Bender sounds. I'm continuing the fight against silence til I get them or shoot myself! lol. If you get any helpful info lemme know and I'll do the same. Til then,

This is crazy I checked my laptop and they work fine on there So I dont know what it is I have all current updates on laptop as well as my desktop and my desktop wont play the sounds but my laptop will I have uninstalled alllllll object desktop stuff etc. reinstalled with the same problem the only thing is with natural desktop i uninstalled new version and installed old version and the sounds work fine in it but as far as desktop x they still dont work except for on an occassion Like for my weather I have the sun set to play nice bird chirping sounds etc. but it wont play them. Dont know the cause but would like to know why this stuff all works on my laptop and not my desktop? I even uninstalled all my sound cards and drivers and reinstalled incase that was a problem still no luck. so it is nice to know i am not the only one with this problem at least i know its not my pc like i was thinking. I have plenty of hd space and a 1.5gb of memory with a big processor so i know its not that.
