the lost and confused
they look for some refuge
somewhere to stay
and to prosper.
in these situations
the little ones will go
to any place that looks
to offer comfort and warmth.
in these situations
the old will stay away from
any place that looks
to offer comfort and warmth.
the young will find
in exception for few
that this comfort and warmth
though luring are lies
their new guardians
will use them
for all tasks that need a muscle
and each chore
that started as a mess.
the elder will find
nothing to help them
nothing to sustain them
and their lives they will risk
they have been through the hassles
and managed many messes
just to be left
and sent to another life
of service which ruined all dreams
both want to be wanted
loved just the same
even if it means hurt
or even loss in the process
they run to a new life
hoping for the best
or settling for the next
however bad it may be.
some never find the
home they search for
while others don't know
they walked into a haven.

I'm sure you can get what that was about. More of less how the homeless and/or abandoned look for a safe place to live and how there is usually a long road to take in the process of finding their little "haven." And of course, a haven is different for each person so it makes it hard.
