I theorize,
that once we realize,
it never was supposed to be a surprise,
that's we've all been downsized,
down trotten, and downright rotten,
the we're treated,
and force-feeded,
the call to war by those who have already retreated,
but never having to wave white flags,
or gather up aluminum cans in dirty plastic bags,
scrapin' by to get a nickle,
rapin' and pilaging with our hearts in the vice to yield a trickle,
and trickle down economics,
what happened to all the prosperity that was promised,
to the spot reserved at the front of the line,
sick of waiting and contemplating suicide,
to kill ourselves in the name of everyone else who died,
for someone else's cause,
for everyone else's flaws,
the paws,
of the tiger are sharp and swift,
and into our skin the claws rip,
a new hole,
and that is the trickle down,
that it was crown of thorns we were promised,
the dawn of our scorn abolished,
and the pedestal we polished,
shines brightly with them atop,
and with them atop it won't be stopped,
the boat must be rocked,
and yes,
we'll all be wet,
and we all were vets,
and we all placed bets,
but never rolled a 7,
with the weighted dice,
and the weight upon these neighborhoods is a hefty price,
to pay,
and the debt is stacking up,
and upon it we built our homes,
we'll remain here until these sins are attoned.
