Gamespot has caught wind of Leland Yee making more moves against the video game industry. The California Democratic Assemblyman has set his sights on one game specifically this time, Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Yee has signaled out San Andres due to something that isn't even in the gameplay, but instead buried in the game's source code. A few people with too much time found that deep in the game's code are a few mini-games that were removed from/never intended to be in the final product. These mini games are of the X-rated fashion and thus Yee deems the unsuitable for children, calling that the title should be rated "Adults Only."
The mini games cannot be played unless you use a third party mod, but Yee still believes that the fact that you can play them at all should have an impact. Yee claims that the ESRB is "failing to appropriately rate" products such as GTA:SA and that "plain and simple, parents cannot trust the ESRB to rate games appropriately or the industry to look out for our children's best interests." Rockstar Games has yet to even comment on the presence of the discovered mini games, let alone the outcry from Yee.
