Pirates of the Southern Seas

Pirates of the Southern Seas

Dreams

Dropbear was a dreamer. Not a dreamer of petty dreams such as dreams of wealth acquisition and being really nasty to people. But a dreamer of castles, and Princes and dragons and those are the best dreams of all.

But Dropbear can also be crazy and evil and shy and jealous and do horrible things. In other words he is a bit like pretty much everyone.

This tale is unusual because I can tell you the ending: Dropbear tried to repent of these evil ways. He wanted to stop being an evil, dreaming anti-hero. He wanted to do some good. But why did Dropbear want to be selfless and good? That needs some explanation.

The Freedom Force Pub

Dropbear was a Commander of the Freedom Force. He had fought missions and done his best, although his best was not always good enough. He loved his country and his mates, and he liked his new found adorableness. But he wanted more.

He wanted to be a ruthless irascible pirate like Pontius, or a conniving and handsome Spymaster like Gerakken, or a super-organised and respected Supreme Leader like Ray the Wanderer, or the President of the CariElf Fanclub like MM77, or a loveable and wise wombat like Wild Wombat. But he was none of those things, and never would be.

In other words, Dropbear was feeling a bit down and a bit jealous, and maybe a bit unloved. To stifle a sob he took a swig of a rather nice Kiwi pinot and looked around the bar. His current mates were here: a small group, loyal and true. The nightly chess game had ended with Bakka beating Ajm37 again.

Dropbear knew that he and Hurls would drink each other under the table before this night was through: he had found a good Shiraz, which Hurls would appreciate. But Dropbear also had another agenda for this night: he wanted to unburden his soul. And who else to do that with, than one’s mates?

As well, he had an ending to make: and a new beginning too.

Earlier

Dropbear’s Private Hell

Dropbear dropped the message crystal in disbelief. The moving image winked out. Yet, he picked the message crystal up again, and this time, replayed it, time and again. Afterwards, he had some thinking to do. With a heavy heart, he entered his battleaxe, the CariElf, and took her into space.

An Evil Pirate

Dropbear was evil and loved nothing better than to bribe and wheel and deal.

He measured the pirate with his eyes. The pirate could be suborned: Dropbear could see that in an instant. The question was at what cost? And with how much effort?

The gold, reflected in the pirate’s eyes, was a sparkle that held no lustre. But the pirate could not see that. “Arr. Gold. Bright and yellow, hard and cold. Heavy to get and light to hold.” The pirate squinted at Dropbear. “What must ah do, evil one, for the prize ya offer me?” Dropbear gazed back, with a forlorn look: “The price is high. But not so high that one such as you would not pay the price. Betrayal, spying, murder and mayhem. And…especially information. A bargain at any price!”

The pirate nodded. “Oh yes, a small price to pay for gold in the hand”. The pirate spat in his other hand and offered it to the bear. “Let’s shake adorable little bear”.

Dr Quinn’s Consulting Rooms

Dr Quinn was misunderstood. Long had she practiced and with quite good results. True, she had often misdiagnosed Pontius, but he made her nervous. She could not diagnose under pressure.

She cackled wildly. “Ah raven what shall we do? Our small collection of animals has dwindled to naught. How shall we continue our experiments, eh?” She whacked the dissection table with her scalpel. Dr Quinn’s raven fluttered and squawked. Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore!”

“Why Raven, do you admonish me?” She laughed gaily. “Animals of the woods we need, or better yet, talking animals! Yes, large talking animals. Or dare I dream…a man. MUHAHAHAHA”. She laughed a little insanely and drew the scalpel across her palm, with tenderness and a little madly.

The raven looked at the red, red blood in the flickering candlelight.

CariElf’s Temple

He walked down the boulevard, the memories almost overpowering. The fights, the tragedies, the characters, the Pres! The Temple shone with such a light as he approached: a light of clarity and goodness.

How did I leave the path of goodness so quickly, wondered Dropbear. How easily evilness beckons and then sucks one dry. He had fought his monsters and lost and could never return to the fold of the Viscountess. Or perhaps he could. No man can truly know the course of time, he thought.

But not yet. The pirate had been a useful spy on the Ship of Doom. Dropbear now had verification of the claims that had been made in the message crystal. “The burden I bear is too great”, wailed Dropbear. “The knowledge that I have, I can no longer hold and stay sane. I must confess, if only to my mates”.

Dropbear took one last soulful look, and left the Skowbo swamps, forlornly.

From the shadows the Pres watched him leave: “You shall return Vice Pres” he murmured. “And she shall heal your soul. Goodbye for now adorable, little bear” he shouted into the dank, swamp air.

The CariElf swept up into the sky and departed the planet, sadly.

Jimmie and Peggy-Sue

Peggy-Sue nodded enthusiastically. “I love Star Trek, and especially Captain Janeway. The power, the command, the authority”. The inflection on the last word made the waiter wince and move quickly past the couple’s table.

Foolishly, Jimmie wasn’t listening: “Yes and science fiction…”
“Oh, Jimmie. I love SciFi, the goofy stories and…and…all…that stuff”.
Jimmie was in seventh heaven. He had finally, he had truly, found his soul mate.

The Ship of Doom: The Officers’ Mess

CypherPax was being led out again. Mrs Pax stood at the door of the Officers’ mess, waiting patiently. She clutched a rolled-up magazine. Pontius shuddered: he knew how much pain a rolled-up newspaper could do: let alone a Marie Claire!

“Ah mate”, he said, “How’s the eye?” CypherPax looked from his good eye, silently imploring. Silently he mouthed ‘save me’. Pontius shook his head somewhat sadly, the Paxes had not been married long, and Cypher still had some learning experiences to suffer.

Cypher slumped as the waiters led him towards his doom: “The festering has stopped” he muttered, just before the door closed.

Pontius shook the Pirate Times and settled down for a read. The plush armchair enveloped him. Gerakken sat down beside him, somewhat stiffly: “Pontius, where was that banging coming from…” Pontius shook his head again: “Ya don’t want to know”.

Some minutes later, Pontius gasped: “Would ya look at this Gerras!”, inclining his head towards an article that only he could see.

Gerakken looked up sharply. He had his reports to flick through and was tiring of Pontius’ constant references to popular culture. “Who’s done what to whom?” he asked, concisely.

Pontius was oblivious. “Why, huh, gee, that’s funny…” He petered out. Gerakken was wise to this strategy, but could not help himself. “What, what, WHAT?”
Pontius looked up puzzled. “Um, gosh Gerras…settle down”. Pontius read out the article, which was directed at pirates and so was short and in very simple English. They looked thoughtful. “So the mutants are in turmoil! How odd.”

Jimmie’s Wedding

Young Jimmie’s wedding was spectacular. From the badly dressed bridesmaids, to the photo session in the botanical gardens, every piece had been carefully planned and executed.

Jimmie was beaming. “Gosh Mr Pax, what can I say. It has been magical. We fit like a hand in a glove. Why, my Peggy-Sue may be much older than me, but she has been the best thing that has walked through my front door since sliced bread”. Cypher looked as if he was about to say something, but he felt a presence behind him. “Of course lad”.

Peggy-Sue showed her engagement ring to her friends, Mary-Lou and Janeese. “Yea, it’s nice. It’s unusual. It’s different” they said in unison.

Pontius was leering at the women from a safe distance. He quickly looked around for Mrs Pilot who had momentarily disappeared, before leaning towards Gerakken. “What foxy ladies they are!” Gerakken looked at Pontius quizzically, before he coughed.

Mrs Pilot came up and saw the direction of Pontius’ gaze. “Ponshie!” She studied Pontius’ face very carefully: “They are pretty things aren’t they?” Pontius looked utterly innocent: “Oh, um. Actually, I hadn’t noticed”.

Pontius had learnt that lesson early and well.

The Ship of Doom: The Spymaster’s Coterie

‘Judge a man by his questions rather than by his answers’, thought the Spymaster. ‘Hmmm. I wonder what that means?’

Gerakken looked around his coterie. Spies and weasels, undercover men, standover men, Yor droids and chambermaids. A motley collection to make him proud.
“What news, my friends?” Before they could answer, Gerakken coughed suddenly: his flu was getting much worse.

Dr Quinn and Gerakken

Gerakken could barely lift his weak head. The Elven flu had taken hold of him, firmly.

“Dr Quinn, do you have aspirin?” Dr Quinn looked at Gerakken disconcertingly. “Ah, neurophen then…?” Dr Quinn began to take her blouse off, button by button, all the time licking her lips. In, out, in, out: darted her long, sharp, red tongue.

Gerakken blanched with fear. “Dr Quinn, I am a happily married man, what of your morals?” Dr Quinn shrugged: “Once I had morals. Once I was young”. The last button was undone.

Gerakken squirmed and thrashed. “But what of your ethics as a doctor? What of your doctor’s registration?” The blouse came off: “Once I had ethics. Once I was registered”.

The too-handsome Spymaster began to sob. He knew he should have taken Pontius’ advice and seen Dr Spock instead.

Peggy-Sue

Peggy-Sue sobbed. “There, there” said Mary-Lou with a hidden grin.

Peggy-Sue could not be consoled: “Mary-Lou, it has all changed. Since we married, Jimmie has changed.” This revelation shocked even Mary-Lou.

“If I’d known that the flowers and the nights out every night were going to stop, I’d never have got married!”

Finally

The Freedom Force Pub

Dropbear began his tale slowly, as if he lacked courage to continue.

“Mates, the story I tell you is pitiful, but it is not your pity I seek. This night I shall unburden my soul: and in truth I seek your understanding. I have not been lucky in love and long have I wished for the joy of marriage. The pleasure of sharing hobbies; discussing science fiction books; playing computer games together; all of those things that married couples do”.

The gathered mates nodded solemnly: they too wished to see every single, happy man married.

“Now I am evil, you know that. But I am a little crazy too. Once I lived on Skowbo, and held a position of some repute in the Viscountess’ employ”. The gathered group stirred, for Dropbear rarely spoke of those halcyon days.

“Ah, the adulation, the poetry, the chocolate….and Gerakken. Always Veteran Gerakken”. Dropbear’s chill voice became icy. He stifled a sob. “That handsome, common pirate tormented me. Why, do you know he won every award for his prose? Every one! I quoted Wordsworth for sheep’s sake! Do you think they knew. Or cared?”

Several minutes later Dropbear pulled himself together with some effort. Wombie looked tormented at the strain that showed on Dropbear’s face, the tears matting his fur. He felt Dropbear’s pulse, but let him continue.

“Now a pretty enough lass once visited the Temple. Oh, she was a game one. What a horn bag”. He chuckled. “The times we had...the laughter, the drinking, the late nights cavorting…”
The gathered mates looked both repelled and fascinated.

“But it didn’t last, why, it never does, does it? She left and never returned. I never heard from her again. That is, until this week! The shock! Her message told me all that had happened those many years ago….I have verified what she said of course”

Dropbear straightened and looked ahead without emotion. “This is why I tell you I am leaving the Freedom Force, to join the Pirates”. The group gaped, numb.

“Yea, it is something I must do, to make amends. I was not there when she needed me. She has since married and does not want me now. But our son…”

“You have a son?” asked Wombie quietly.

Dropbear looked down, he could not meet Wombie’s sad, knowing eyes.

“Yes, Peggy-Sue had our son. He was born in the dark recesses of a cargo freighter. The freighter was raided soon after by pirates and our kid was kidnapped. She traced the ship, which did the deed: The Ship of Doom! This is now my destiny! To become a pirate and find my son: to give him the father he never had!”

The gathered mates began crying and hugging as one.
There had been an ending, but a good beginning as well, at least that was how Dropbear felt.

Postscript

Wombie packed his bags thoughtfully. Mates stick together he thought. Hurls came in, and the rest, carrying their bags. “There is one other thing that I didn’t understand last night, Wild Wombat” said Hurley with a frown. “What is Dropbear’s special power?”
Wombie grinned. “Haven’t ya worked it out yet? Why, it’s glamour. When he looks forlorn, ya have to adore him. What a nifty power to have!”

The soon-to-be pirates nodded, thoughtfully. Of course.

As there doesn't seem to be much happening scoring wise with GROSS just thought i'd have a bit of fun and start my own empire until the World Cup finishes, hope it doesn't exclude from still being a POSSe member

reckon the world cup'll end much like the galciv player table - an ANZAC first, a Hobbit second, and the Poms third...

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We share a dream and sing with one voice:
I am, you are, we are real pirate scum.

I just got two spare tickets from a mate for Georgia vs South Africa tonight. Looks a bit one-sided - but hey, it's free. :)

A moment of seriousness. Empire swapping is turning into an art form lately, and I think this is a reaction to a relatively frozen Metaverse table and, for the Posse, a bit of battle fatigue. I remember Quack saying when we first thought about breaking out that we shouldn't regard anything as set in stone and I admit I'm getting itchy paws to do something different, too. I just want to say that the Posse stands as the main reason I'm still here, and I would like to think that we remain the Posse no matter where we happen to roost at any one particular time. I think we should keep this thread open, and I will certainly keep posting here as it is the link we share. Go have fun, for goodness sake! We'll collect together again in one spot when the time is right! Cypher and Jaws, enjoy! GO Wallabies! Oh and go Red Dragons (I'm not Welsh, I just like dragons).

Maybe Jaws will pick up a bunch of drunkie pommie rugby fans to join the pirate swarm when he comes back. LOL

That match last night was pretty good, actually. I was a bit worried about the tickets cause they said "obstructed view", but they turned out to be literally front-row tickets. "Obstructed" cause some camera crews would park in front for a grand total of about 1 minute during the game?!? I'll take that any day for a front-row seat!

The Geektrix Reloaded

Jaws looked moodily at his bowl full of purified vegetable slop. He pushed his spoon through the curd-like contents a couple of times, then gave up in disgust. "I can't eat this rubbish! Christ, my teeth will atrophy at this rate - what the hell's going on with those repair droids?"

It had been a difficult time. The Pegasus had been ambushed by a pack of Drengin Death Knights off Skowbo. While the Posse had managed to escape successfully, damage to the food replicators and refridgeration elements had put everyone in a foul mood. Quack clucked with irritation. "And the bloody beer's warm! Intolerable! Wait - I know where we can go for a decent feed while the droids are working..."

The others glanced at him. Killa shrugged. "You know it's just virtual food, right? I mean to say, it has no true nutritional value. We might just as well eat thin air."

"Compared to this slop, thin air starts to look like a thick steak with a nice bottle of Grange!" roared Jaws. "I'm in, dammit. Let's head to the Geektrix - for takeout!"

brrr,brrr......brrr,brrr.......brrr,brrr....(bloody Telstra)....brrr,brrr.......brrr,brrr.....

They stood in a semi-circle once more, in the main street of Bree. Quack shuffled uneasily, his lumberjacket pulled tightly around him. "Er, does this place look a little...different...to the last time we were here?"

Killa smoothed a wrinkle in his golden velour tracksuit. "Is that a Starbucks next to the Prancing Pony? And what's with the basketball court? The medieval touch seems a little less consistant these days."

They wandered over to the basketball court, where an intense game was in progress. A small figure watched the game, leaning forward against the railing, apparently yearning to participate. As the Posse approached, the small figure seemed gaunt, almost stick-like. He turned to face them. "Ahh...you arrive as foretold."

"Who are you?" asked Hurley.

"I am the Last Kid Picked. I carry a message for The One. The Oracle seeks your attendance - it is a matter of the utmost urgency."

Wombat snorted. "Not that bloody spaced out wacko! I'm not going near her until she's completed a decent detox program. We're just here for a virtual feed."

"Understand this: your world is under threat from the Geektrix. I sense a disturbance in the Force. It is your DESTINY to meet with her."

"Er...she hasn't offered you any home-cooked brownies, lately, has she?" asked Cypher.

The Last Kid Picked shuddered. "Brownies...yes...but important you meet with her, it is. Meet with her, you must. Do, or do not...there is no try." The stick figure turned his attention back to the basketball game.

"You know, Obi also said something about a disturbance in the Force, last time I spoke to him." mused Wombat.

"Sheesh...Yoda flushes a toilet on Coruscant, and the Jedi all start complaining about a disturbance in the Force." said Jaws. "Meanwhile, I sense a disturbance in my stomach - we're here to eat, right?"

Wombat glanced around at several new buildings in the main street of Bree. "Look - there's got to be a decent restaurant around here somewhere. Check things out, get us a table...I'll suss out this Oracle business and catch up with you."

"Hey - I'll come for the walk." said Hurley. The two of them strolled away down the small lane that had led them to the Oracle on their last visit.

_________

Wombat and Hurley had walked a short way down the lane when they came across a woman sitting on a bench in a small park. They recognised her immediately. "Well...er...good to see you, I think. I understand you're looking for me?"

The woman known as the Oracle stared back at Wild Wombat. "Oh...it's you! Yes...hic...yes, indeed. Want some 'candy'?" She leered at him as she offered him an unmarked tablet.

"No thanks. What seems to be troubling you - as if your AA group didn't tell you?"

"It's not me who has the trouble, Wild One." she said, arranging a line of white powder along the top of the bench and suddenly snorting the whole line with accompanying gasps and sneezes. She rocked back and forwards slowly on the bench. "Whoo boy...we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto...whoa...anyway, oh so Wildest, you are actually the one up to his neck in doggy poo.

You may have noticed certain, er, changes around here since your last visit. The operating system underlying the Geektrix has somehow decided your intrusions are not only unwarranted, but positively dangerous to the state of the system."

She paused to draw up some milky fluid into a syringe, and injected it slowly into a vein in her left arm. "Mmmm...yummy....now when was I? I mean, where was I? Oops...yes...the Geektrix has been corrupted by an external influence. The Geektrix needs to be taken down, boys. You need to get to the core of the mainframe, and to do that..."

"Dont tell me - I need to fight an amazing battle against a string of enemies, duel to the death along a stretch of deadly freeway, and it probably involves flying at the speed of sound, right?

The Oracle cocked her head to the side. "Dude...you watch too many movies. Nah...ya just need to go through the right door. But you'll need the right key, and for that, you'll need the Keymaker. He hangs out with a crazy restauranteur called the Hairytaconian. Find the door, get the key - bingo...hic...urpmh! That about does it, sweetfur...oh, and see that oak tree near the bench? There's a secret door in it. You'll need it in a couple of paragraphs. Alrightly, then - see ya!" With that, she began skipping down the lane, singing:" Oh, we're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz...

Wild Wombat and Hurley stared after her. "Wild, that chick has some SERIOUS substance abuse problems...but it would explain some of the crazy crap around here."

They suddenly heard the sound of footsteps behind them. Wombat whirled around. "YOU!"

"Welcome back...MISTER Wombat." Agent Ray advanced slowly towards them. "Yes, Mr. Wombat. Not the me you used to know. I knew this system, knew the game, knew all the rules. Now I am...free...somehow. Free to play the game MY way...let me show you."

Agent Ray gestured to a simple peasant walking down the lane. "You - come here!" The poor serf approached them, and Agent Ray roughly pulled down the serf's woven trousers and stuck his finger in the poor fellow's....ewwww!" Horrified, Hurley and Wombat watched as the peasant warped...and metamorphosed...into another Agent Ray!

"You see, Mr. Wombat - it IS all about me.

"And me."

"And me." Several Agent Rays entered the park and began walking towards them.

Agent Ray grinned at them. "Me, me, me...that makes 59,999 Agent Rays - damn this scoring cap, it's another thing I'm itching to escape. I left one roster spot open - just for YOU, Mr. Wombat. Now, if you'll just BEND OVER...."

"Not on your bloody life, mate! You can just stick that finger...well...somewhere else!" cried Wombat.

"Why, Mr. Wombat - you must be feeling a sense of...inevitability."

Hurley glared back. "You're about to feel the steel of a laser cutlass - and TWO FLIPPERS OF DEATH!" He somersaulted into action, taking out the two nearest Rays and landing in an attack crouch ready for the next wave.

"Hurls - make for the oak tree!" yelled Wombat, drawing his laser cutlass and slashing at the nearest Ray. Flippers and cutlass flashed faster than the eye could follow as the two fought their way to the oak tree, Wombat pausing just long enough to locate the door mechanism, activate it and fall through.

Wombat found himself in a long corridor, stretching off into the distance, lined with doors on either side. "Welcome to the Realms Beyond." A man stepped from behind the door. "I am Serious, guardian and judge of all that is valid, worthy, proper and non-cheesy in the Metav - OOF!" At that moment, Hurley crashed through the doorway, knocking the man across the corridor and through a door on the other side. They watched as Serious fell into a world with tangerine trees and marmalade skies, where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies.

"Who was that guy?" asked Hurley.

"Dunno mate...some wanker."

"Well Wombie, what now?"

Wombat looked down the corridor stretching ahead of them. "Well, I nearly wet my pants - let's find a toilet." They began walking down the corridor.

________

A large and rather elegant restaurant had appeared in the centre of Bree since their last visit. The four strolled up to the reception area, impressed by an ornate fountain in the forecourt. They enquired about a table. The maitre'd shuffled papers in fromt of him and without looking up, said: "Well, we are VERY busy tonight, I am sorry to say, and well, animals...."

Jaws and Killa leaned over the desk. Killa batted his eyes and raised an eyebrow. Jaws grinned...a lot. The maitre'd looked up and was suddenly caught, like a rabbit in the spotlight, between being completely glamourised and knowing he had a place at the centre of Killa's world, and the equal certainty of being Jaws' main course. "Erm, yes, a table has just opened up!" He lead them to a table by the fire and brought the menu.

They passed vincible and arobertson at another table. Both looked gaunt and unshaven. vincible croaked: "I told you a kobold was a reptilian humanoid..." Cypher looked back at them. "Those guys are trapped in the same loop as the last time we were here. What gives?"

Jaws perused the menu. "Wait a minute - "meat pie"..."battered sav"..."From the Barbecue"...what sort of a menu is this! WAITER! I WANT TO SEE THE MANAGER!" THE waiter hustled away and shortly after, a rather hirsute man approached their table, accompanied by a stunningly attractive woman. "Good evening, gentlemen. I am the Hairytaconain. Allow me to introduce my companion...Rainbird. Now - what seems to be the problem?"

Killa flashed his stone killer look at the man. "You menu seems...generally inadequate, lacking seasonal variety and an appreciation of regional cuisine. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"Merde!" exclaimed the hairytaconian. "I love Mexican as a language to swear in...no problemo...hasta la vista, baby...well, you get the picture. Anyway - what the hell do you expect me to serve a bunch of animals, eh? You don't like it - there's a Starbucks across the street!" He turned and walked away. The woman leaned closer to Killa. "If you wish to hear something important...meet me in the men's lavatory." She turned with a coquettish swish of her hips and strolled casually past the reception desk and out to the foyer.

"You've had worse offers, Killa" smirked Quack. "This may well be the only action we'll see tonight." Jaws berely restrained himself from having a waiter for entree as they filed into the men's room. The clicking of high heels announced Rainbird's arrival.

Just as she was about to speak, Wombat and Hurley suddenly crashed out of the first toilet cubicle. "See?" said Wombat. "I told you we just had to go through the door with the toilet sign on it...hey guys - you found a decent restaurant? Wait till we fill you in..."

"Silence!" said Rainbird. "Time is short. I am sure the fortune teller warned you about the Geektrix. The Keymaker is here - in the second toilet cubicle."

"We've heard of this guy!" said Hurley. "We need him for the key to the core of the mainframe, right?"

"No. I have already...convinced him to part with it." said Rainbird. "Now, I have the key." She smiled seductively.

Wombat stepped forward. "Well, let's have it."

"First, I want a kiss." Wombat stepped forward and kissed her. Rainbird drew back her had and slapped him, hard.

Wombat rubbed his jaw. "That was great - but what about the key?"

Rainbird looked at him. "Kiss me like you kiss HER...or you get nothing."

Wombat swept Rainbird off her feet and carried her into the third cubicle. Moist, sensual noises followed by gentle moaning and sliding around followed....

....for quite some time....

....until Wombat emerged, tossing the key to Killa. "Let's go."

"Yeah, but where's the door?" asked Killa.

Rainbird's voice drifted weakly from the third cubicle. "The fourth cubicle...."

"Well - this is definately the most interesting toilet I've ever been in." remarked Quack.

The Posse went through the fourth cubicle and found themselves once again in the long corridor of doors. This time they walked to the end of the corridor, and Killa turned the key in the lock of the last door.

They entered to find a man sitting in a reclining chair. His hair was cut in a mullet fashion and he wore a Marilyn Manson T-shirt, trackiedaks and moccasins. He regarded them with a distainful expression.

"Who are you?" asked Quack.

"i iz da architext. u may regard me az da father of da geektrix. i az been expectin u."

"Wait a minute - you've got an Australian accent!" exclaimed Cypher.

"this iz what u dont understand. ergo, i az been through dis all before. we released cotalbot into the geektrix and she trashed raybot and changed things vis a vis da geektrix. now the ozzie influence is spreadin and we iz overtakin da geektrix.

she iz now da oracle - da mother of the geektrix. u posse iz a systemic anomaly we see from time to time."

Killa burst out laughing. "And you thought the Geektrix was WORTH taking over? With their hackneyed Dungeons and Dragons schtick?"

The architext looked closely at Killa, resplendent in his golden velour track suit. "u iz da 23rd killa koala we az met. your dress sense az not improved. u has a choice: the door on your left leads back to your world. the door on your right..."

"Dont bother." said Quack. "Let me predict your immediate future. Er, Cypher?"

The large white bear walked around behind the architext's chair. Trained drop bear muscles fueled by the purest Bundaberg rum reached down the back of the architext's trackiedaks, grabbed the back of his white underpants...and delivered the finest atomic wedgie ever seen in the Geektrix.

As they filed out the door to their left, leaving the architext writhing on the floor, Wombat clapped Jaws on the back. "Now we work out a way to shut down the Geektrix. One thing's for sure, mate - we are NEVER coming back here for takeout!"
