Take-Two enters the news again today, again related to the Hot Coffee mod incident. Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games are now being sued by a grandmother who bought her grandson Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas last December, when it was still rated as M for Mature. ESRB rating system explains that M games are for people 17 years or older yet the grandmother bought the game for a 14 year old.
Florence Cohen, 85, of New York has sued the publisher and developer due to the two engaging in false, misleading and deceptive practices and has sought unspecified damages for herself and consumers everywhere. Cohen went as far as to say that the companies should give up their profits from the game due to false advertising, consumer deception and unfair business practices. Laurence D. Paskowitz, the lawyer who filed the lawsuit for Cohen said no parent would knowingly buy an adult-only video game for their children. At least Paskowitz had a level head, asking that the company offer refunds to those who would like one.
