Nah, let's see if the Canadians really start a discussion here.

Not to be cynical, but the current #4 empire has gone weeks before without talking to each other on the forum. But the active members submit games still. Thus, they are the undead. And the CSF is a graveyard. What makes you think the not-so-dearly-departed will be talkative in the future? Your humble Spymaster would be most fascinated in the results of this latest re-animation experiment. So Canadians, arise from the crypt!

Xibex - welcome! If you start to feel a cold sensation rising up your extremities, your circulation slow and your heart eventually stop....you will truly be a member of the CSF.

The real test, of course, is whether any of them take issue with this post and reply to it!

Not sure where we can go from here.

Empires have two types of players.

People who play all the time.
Their scores over time stop helping.
Stardock feels it is bad to encourge people to play.

Older scores lose value.
They are adjusted by the square root of the number of games played.

The second group is
The casual player many of which moved on.

We have been slowly losing ground
but that is the way of things.

New scores ALWAYS help. They just help less and less the more frequently an overlord submits.

My guess is that Stardock doesn't want people to burn out. Perhaps the majority of people will keep playing if they pace themselves, but in today's world... :notsure:

How about some enthusiatic Canadians?!?! They're probably all in "theme" empires.

I'm not sure whether it was done on purpose but the current system does have the effect of encouraging participation from a greater number of Overlords rather than reliance on a few power players.

So both quality and quantity is important.

Well, we have had 2 Canadians emerging from the shadows so far in 18hrs. I guess that's pretty good. Are there any more out there?

I guess we are all playing hockey.

Well, that's about the only sport that Canadians do play I suppose. But obviously not hockey played on grass.

The multiple submission IS cruel, though. I'be been committed in July - just submitted a 6760 point game and it raised my Metaverse score from 42860 to 42955 - I mean, sheesh......

Personly I do not see any reason why you can not reward people by playing.

GC has been gold for several months soon only people who enjoy playing time after time will be left.

I can not picture the amount of people playing the game increasing.

We do play hockey indoors.

Well, we've successfully scared Xibex away. I think he took my original advice and ran. I make the score 2 Canadians after 3 days.

Actually I've been on vacation for the last couple of days and I was blissfully incommunicato with the rest of the outside world. All Canadians know that the good weather we have during the summer is too precious (and rare) to waste.

You poor things. Sydney once had a really cold day: last month or sometime. Mind you we are in mid-winter, so we expect the temp to get to only 15C.
I know! Move to Sydney! And that way you can be a Southern Seas pirate as well!

Hi cythknight, if you didn't know, I scripted you into my fantasy story in the Fellowship thread. You are the leader of a force of Death Knights. The Canadians are Undead in my story.

Why are you still playing with 1.035? 1.05 is available and highly recommended.
