Problem with Computer

jscript.dll and vbscript.dll problem.

Ever since I started playing around with DesktopX I have been having major problems with my computer. Everytime I reboot I have to goto run and type regsvr32 jscript.dll and regsvr32 vbscript.dll to get my computer to function normally. If I don't I cannot run help, run system restore, use User Accounts, do a search, do a search from the address bar in IE or use Yahoo search, also I cannot get Large Preview in Stardock Central, or WinCustomize browser, and many other problems with specific websites that either run script or use java. I cannot get this to stop even if I don't load any DesktopX widgets or objects. It's a real pain in the butt. Two weeks ago I encountered the same problem and completely redid my computer from scratch, same problem occurred after playing with Objects and Widgets. This time around I decided to search the net frantically because I can't afford another three day restoration. I found the solution in another thread on this same subject but I can't find it now so I started another. What has DesktopX done to my computer and how can I fix it so that I don't have to re-register those two .dll's every time I reboot, because that definitely is a pain in the butt.

1)running the commands and rebooting as you did &
2)Link

Thanks, the download from Microsoft solved the problem and created another but another download solved the problem that was created. Now I'll try playing with DesktopX objects again, hopefully this time it won't crash my computer, but if it does, now I know how to fix it. Thanks again.

I have added another DesktopX object and now I have to do the regsrv32 everytime I reboot my computer or nothing works, I am getting ready to ditch DesktopX completely.

It has to be something other than just Desktopx and Windows, since many are running it and not having the same problem. Perhaps if you listed the other software you have running in your system, someone would have an idea about what is interacting with DX to cause your problem.

Or, alternatively, you could use Msconfig to do a selective boot, taking out all your startup items and putting them back one at a time to try and isolate the problem.

Obviously, you've tried checking for viruses, spyware, etc.?

Does reinstalling MS Script fix the problem? What objects or widgets are you running? Themes?
