Original desktop loads as well as the new Desktop X theme

Hi, I have no clue why this happens. When I start my pc it loads my old desktop while going threw the start up process. After a few minutes, the desktop X theme will appear and all is good...Is there a way to disable the old desktop from starting up... BTW, I set the load desktop X theme in the preference settings within desktop X...Thanx for the help...

This is normal.....DX is a shell enhancer, not a shell replacement, like Litestep. it loads on top of Explorer, so Explorer has to load first before DX can.

If you have the SDC browser - in tools, settings, see if enabling smart startup holds up your regular desktop until dtx load, it does for me (except for the wall)
