No change here.

Okay, then the next step is that I need you to post the address it's crashing on.

It'll say something like offset.

You can do this with SmartException (that's the easiest way). THen I can look at what line of code it's crashing on.

Ok, grabbed me a beer, I'm good for a while longer

I'm at home, I don't get my work account email here so I won't see it until Monday.  Need SmartException file posted. All I really need is the offset on the crash.

OK, SmartException creats a file called Excectionlog.zip. Is that what you want posted? Is so, how do I post a file or where can I find the offset?

Okay.

Try this:

From a command line:

GalCiv2 w

(run it in a window)

what window

It's crashing on this line:

g_d3dSettings.pFullscreen_AdapterInfo->pDisplayModeList->Count();

Which means little to me (I program computer AI).  But it does indicate that it may have something to do with going full-screen.

I get the same error

im not blaming anyone i just got a question.... at the office... whose bright idea was it to send out the update then go home and worry about it till monday. and how do i run that in a window
Reply #66 Top

I mean, run the game in a window.

To do that, you just go to the command line and run it with the w paramter.

c:/>galciv2 w

delta leader - we always do builds at the end of the week.  It's a beta. If you don't like betas, you should just wait until release.

Okay, it's almost 2am, I'm going to bed.  Sorry guys, you'll probably have to wait until next week for a solution.
I've tried galciv2w galciv2 w galciv -w and galciv /w
All give me the same error. Am I not doing it correctly?

I think you pissed him off....too bad, it is a stupid idea to post and update on Friday then go home for the weekend and be like FU when it doesn't work....I'll give him points for trying from home though!
