I agree Bill. Seems like there's a PTA meeting squabble that badly needs more people to join in! I love the "personal profit" part of heg's post. Yea, this site is a gold mine. In fact, everyone reading this who thinks this site is an evil conspiracy should go right now and start a skin site to start raking in the dough. Yep, every guy who we get to use Litestep we get a commission and

We don't agree is the problem. We feel it IS accurate. This site IS a general skin site that has most of the popular programs on it. Each website "in the community" runs their website as they choose. To my knowledge, there is no elected board of "skin community" people who get to decide for websites what is and isn't a required section.
Whatever Paxx.
Paxx, if you don't see the problem in an anonymous user trying to turn a question about what the difference between Litestep and WindowBlinds into yet another "let's bash WinCustomize" thread then we really have nothing further to talk about.
The difference is subtle but crucial and not an exact science. We know you, and Dangeruss, and Craeonics and Cygnus, etc. You have years and years invested in your personas/handles, whatever you want to call them. What you don't want to have happen is to have a message board filled with instant-alias's who have some agenda to push. I know this is harsh but people who think that this site is bad or unfair or whatever can go to one of the other sites. We just want to have a pla
What is X10?
There is Frogboy and Draginol. If you click on either one, it will say "Brad Wardell". The reason you know I have 2 (not 3) users here is because I've been very open about it. Anonymous posters are not welcome because we do not know what their motivations are. If you or someone else needs a second account for whatever reason (I have Draginol so that I can visit the site as a non-Admin usually for testing) that's fine as long as you identify who you are.
BTW, anyone caught creating alias users (such as "Tom Cruise") will be exiled.
Man, I feel like I'm in one of those group therapies. Except here I'm the assigned enabler. I don't know what you really want from us. No, we're not going to change the mission statement. I am part of the skin community. Stardock has been part of the skin community from the beginning. Even if this site only had Stardock sections, it would still be a community site in my view. Someone may disagree but that's how we see it. WinCustomize strives to contain MOST of the popular ones. And i
Anyone know of a site that has a TON of pop-up ads? Want to really put WebBlinds's SmartBlocker through its paces.
We use cameras. Stop touching yourself!
I can't speak for the NeXTSTart skin but I do know there's a Winamp skin on it. You should really have created a new topic for that. I believe the suite includes skins for: + DesktopX + ObjectBar + IconPackager + WInAmp + WindowBlinds That seems reasonably complete. If you figure that the skin archive is $10 of the cost and the 2 suites are the other $10, then that's 10 skins. $1 per skin is pretty cheap.
Yea well I've got an update to Liquid 2 nearly ready.
After years of almost being a major player, OS vendor BeOS has hung it up. They've been sold for $11 million (in stock) to Palm. Ironically, Be turned down a $125 million offer from Apple some years ago (doh!). It is believed that Palm will possibly use Be as a potential PDA OS. The desktop OS future l
Good grief, I was not implying people who download a lot were pirates. I stated clearly over and over that if someone has purchased the programs, I hope they download everything on the site. Please do not put words in my mouth.
PocketBlinds is the first program for the PocketPC that fully skins Windows CE. It is essentially WindowBlinds for the PocketPC. With it, you can skin the title bar, menus, push buttons, and more. And it's free!

Well what kind of tourism are you expecting thing?
Oh it would be much worse than that. You'd only be able to download a meg or two without purchasing something and there'd be purchase buttons everhwhere on the site. There would be "sales and specials" on the site, a Stardock screenshot of the day, etc. The result of course would be a significant percentage of people would leave but the site would be a "profit center". Go to Microsoft's site and download WMP skins to see what a company site looks like. <img src="http://images.stardock.
How much are DA Mugs? I might get one.
Coming soon: United Craeonics, a small but powerful nation with good pasta.
For those of you who are interested in the latest greatest video cards, ATI is about to release the Radeon 8500 that is effectively as fast or slightly faster than the GeForce 3. But Nvidia hasn't been standing still either. Oooh it's exciting!
Good people can disagree.
It would be ineresting to compare the wpm score with the geek score. Could there be a correlation?
