Sorry dudes, but these just don't strike me as commercial quality skins, even for Windowblinds efforts. Carbonix is without doubt the strongest of the three here and even that isn't the sort of skin you could honestly use day in day out whilst going about your everyday PC business. PixOS was, I suspect, something of a high watermark.

This site has always had the stink of favouritism about it and operating this policy (which is news to me) whereby certain l33t skinners can upload any old crap because they're friends-of-the-frog is, frankly, insulting. You guys ever read Animal Farm - "All animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others". Ring any bells? So, some enthusiastic newbie uploads his first wallpaper, the moderators say "dear me, his shiny Bryce torus's aren't anywhere up to the standard we require" an

That 'best of the best' thing is what really cracks me up the most. I drop by here every week or two and I check out the wallpapers section and what do I see - endless, dull, Bryce, rubbish. Cracks me up that you can operate a moderation system and yet still end up with the most pitifully bland selection of wallpapers ever to grace an archive. If wallpapers are such a low priority on this most-hallow'd of skinning sites then get rid of them completely, spare your poor moderators the abuse and le

You know. I appreciate the quality of the code you guys produce (for the most part), and I also appreciate that Wincustomise is a site hosted at great expense by Stardock, but these triumphal news stories are starting to sound a lot like something from 1984 by George Orwell. Doubleplusgood.

The result doesn't surprise me. I can only comment for my wife, but she honestly doesn't give a stuff what her display looks like - her PC's just a tool, a means to an end. I think men get a lot more territorial about their desktops - the 21st century equivalent of leaving scent marks around your domain ... <img s

I did wonder about this when the powers-that-be made Turbo Deluxe a featured skin - not because it's bad, but because it's well over a year old and DesktopX has changed out of all recognition in that time. The same problem afflicts my Graphite desktopx theme and undoubtedly pretty much any pre-1.0 desktopx theme. It's the plugins - undoubtedly the CPU and memory ones. They have a very bad memory leak which sucks CPU cycles like they're going out of fashion. I'd strongly advise against anyone usi

You know - it really bugs me when items like this appear as news items on completely unrelated web sites like Wincusto. I don't go to CNN to download WB skins, I don't drop by Slashdot for a Chilli recipe and I don't pay a visit to Tomshardware for my daily horoscope. Politics has an impact on all our lives, but this is a skinning site, about skinning, for skinners and people interested in using skins - can't we keep it that way, and leave the ill-informed political comment to slightly more poli

I'm getting bugs too. I can create a skin, but when I try to load one I get 'Unable to load OdZip library, reinstall LogonStudio to fix it' - which of course doesn't help at all

Hard to imagine a bigger improvement. I've never used Windowblinds in the past because it brought my dual PIII 1Ghz, 1Gb RAM, GeF2 DDR64Mb, W2K system to a crawl. Haven't noticed any performance hit at all with this version. Good job.
