tradition has it that the tops of fires make puurfect cat beds any examples of DX themes that are unhappy? i have just started looking into DX, and havent yet had this problem.
feline
they didnt as far as i can tell. perhaps just paranoia, or shrewd marketing to shift more copies of WebBlinds
JavaBrain - You guys better not be having a party without me! /me wouldnt dream of having a party without JavaBrain, among others
JavaBrain is talking to herself again..... /me is pleased to see that JavaBrain is growing as a person
JavaBrain - Feline has been awful quiet lately... is that cat sleeping in a chocolate cave somewhere? Wake up!!! hormones giveth, and hormones taketh away combined with the fact that i think work are trying to kill me off, and i have some cold type bug. i am going though a depressed stage at the moment <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/mad.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
thats fair i was thinking in terms of having a script that said "listen to the sound and visulise it" using some COM thing that was already on my machine. my next question was in fact going to be how to get info on the currently playing file, like title and time remaining. i have just downloaded a couple of DX mp3 players that should do this to see if i can make them do it with SD play
starone - I would like to see explanations from the rating person as to why the particular rating. nothing like asking for everything these days i only tend to download things that really speak to me emotionally, and that i like. however, this it is hard to know how to put this sort of reaction into words <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
adni18 - but the artists are very sensitive people and we must try not to hurt them true personally i only rate things that i like. the reasoning is that if i dont like it, or am not impressed, this is hardly a reflection on the work, only on my perception of the work. however, if something really speaks to me, and moves me emotionally, then it really does deserve a proper rating, and
as for updating via component manager, there are two schools of thought on this one. some people always uninstall the old version before installing the new version. others simply make sure that the old version isnt running before installing over the top of it. as far as i can tell it doesnt normally make much difference. although, having said that unistalling and reinstalling can wipe out any settings you have made. the WB you had to install over was a specia
/me hugs T-Man got to love these wonderful adjustments
for which i am grateful well, if it is a choice between adds, and no wincustomize, adds it is going to have to be.
perhaps if we pool our ignorance of scripting we will reach critical mass i have just tried to make the sample java script example in the rc1 documentation work, and it wont. this is likely to take a while me thinks
i have no idea what i am remembering then after some experimentation i have solved the not working problem. setting all the buttons in the player to accept single clicks does it. aso setting the global DX setting to single click will do it, but i am going off that already
on a related front, i have the memory of a mainly light (or pale) blue, roundish, desktopX object with a cetral button, and several surounding buttons, that was an mp3 player. not only that, i thought that it was one of your cunning creations. am i getting this mixed up with something else, or did screen shots of this this really once get posted? i have just hunted though wincustomize, and havent found anything that matches my memory of this item.
MadIce - Found it: "Start with" should be set to Single click and not normal. is this something simple that a desktopX novice (that would be me ) can easily edit?
when using desktopX to control the SD player, is it possible to get the "bouncing bars" effect that shows the "shape" of the music as it is being played? i am guessing this should be theoretically posible a suitable COM object can be located. does anyone have any thoughts on how to go about doing this? thanks
i am new to desktopX, so this may be another silly question, but it is worth asking anyway can i assign hotkey combinations to desktop objects and actions? currently on my home machine i am using one program for watching movies (media player), another for mp3 playback (coolplayer), and a third for hotkeys, one of which launches coolplayer. with the appearance of SD player, i am looking to
strange, and interesting. i simply did an install and then run of SD player and DX, so there is no reason for SD player to be anywhere other than in the normal place. however, i will check that tonight. i only tried single clicking the buttons, so perhaps that is the problem. i had started SP player manually, and fed it a load of mp3 files via its playlist, so as to make sure that it was running. does the order of launching matter? i launched SP player *before* i launched d
Splash! - I am not getting confused, feline! you need to eat more chocolate then. i know just the planet Splash! - But what do you mean by "humans are the aliens"? well, they are hardly the same species as i am, and since i am not an alien (i just *am*) the logical conclusion is that they are the aliens <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/grim.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
BoXXi - So sue me!! /me goes looking for someone called sue with-whom to *reward* boxxi
i tend to be here as a background activity, posting while waiting for loads of stuff to recompile, or my machine to start responding to me again say 5 to 8 hours most days, but a lot of that is dead time, since i am doing something else. /me *likes* this pole the people around here are making me look restrained, sedate and normal <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.g
interesting. i have been vaguely wondering about this myself for a while now, but have yet to do anything about it
outstanding! however, one little question. i was looking at this last night, but was unable to control the SD player via desktopX. how do i do this? it is a real pain trying to fully control SD player via the impressively long right click menu from the system tray. i have never really used desktopX (since i can never normally find my desktop under all the windows ) so i may have missed
we just need more visitors like me after all, on a good day 5 consecutive posts from me is a light thread visit
JavaBrain - Or is that him flying around up there tring to catch those crazy mint dragons? /me **raspberry** the lovely large mint dragons and i are not crazy. we are just more aware of a greater range of realities that some
