time for another update. following on from the unable to use the modem problem, i had another look. i booted up the machine. the programs loading on startup are: ObjectBar 1.60a[b].001 Keyboard Lauchpad 1.00.001 WordWeb 2.1 WindowBlinds Tab Launchpad i checked, and the modem didnt work. so, i unloaded OB, KLP and WordWeb. now the modem works! so, i
