thanks for the comments so far,,,funny, isn't it?

All across the world........our enemies are celebrating the loss. who and where are these celebrations taking place? the only world reaction i have seen so far is the european union president congratulating the democrats. is europe our enemy now? i didn't get that memo...
I'd say Bush doesn't have the right to force him to stay according to bush, rumsfeld offered his resignation after the abu ghirab scandal. bush rejected it and kept him on.
In his press conference today, President Bush spoke of finding "common ground" with the new, democratically controlled congress. This new attitude is most welcomed by me. He stated in his conference that he had spoken with Nancy Pelosi this morning and they were both interested in finding that "common ground." Of course, 2 days ago, the message was, "no ma
the only thing this election "proved" was that tip o'neill was wrong. all politics are not local as he contended and the GOP clung to up till the last minute.
There are a lot of wonderful Catholics out there, but the Church, as an institution, is abhorrent. i couldn't agree more. i hope lula doesn't take our comments as mean spirited and realize we all want her to find God. Unfortunately, she is one of millions that found a corrupt church of man and serves it instead of truly finding God and serving him.
NBC News is reporting that Donald Rumsfeld will resign. This comes only a week after President Bush declared that the secretary would be in his cabinet until 2009 when the President's term expires. The President has now established, once again, his ability to "flip flop" when politically convenient. He will be replaced by Bob Gates, another "good ol boy"
i'm also thinking of when 3 senators got their "unanimous vote" in the middle of the night concerning terri shaivo. if it was required that all senators be informed that there was a vote and they were required to vote aye or nay, or go on the record as purposefully abstaining, and being required to give a reason for that abstention, do ya think that vote would have even been attempted?
so shades, why not "standardize" the system so they have no excuse?
from the comments i've seen, isn't it feasible that we consider changing the electoral college from a statewide thing to maybe a more localized countywide thing and allow the delagates to go with the county majority instead of the state? just a suggestion,,,
What they're going to do is let the existing Bush tax cuts expire, effectively raising the tax rates, then claim "We didn't raise taxes!" most of the tax cuts, and esp. the contended ones, don't even come up for renewal until 2010 or beyond... this house will only use those tax cuts in making deals with the administration, which means they will
I could easily equate your religion with idolatry it's totally easy to equate catholicism to idolitry. catholics pray to saints, that's an idol and not God. catholics pray and worship mary, again, she is not God, she is an idol. they put mary up over all other women of the world, but God says all of his children are equal in his eyes...that's ido
jeffords oops, i meant jefferson...the guy with the 90K in his freezer...thanks for the correction guy
Sorry Sean, from your own admissions, you are not a libertarian. yes i am, and there is nothing you can say or do to change that. the attempts at selectively picking 2 issues where i see more practical and kinder human solutions, at least in the short term doesn't take away where i agree with the party on so many other things. people ha
There is NO reason for Senators to be chosen by We the People when they are supposed to represent the interests of the several states I still don't understand what is wrong with the senate i'm alittle confused on this too ted, please explain...
Funny that the conservative party lost because it wasn't conservative enough... excellent observation!
If you only see corruption on one side, you'd better take the eyepatch off. no eyepatch ted, in fact i addressed that in my statement that you selectively quoted ...(democrat, but the party in power usually takes the hit),
As long as Cheney is the tie breaker...well you decide. currently, the official count is 49-49, with the 2 independents caucussing w/ the democrats. in the 2 contested races, both of the democrats are up in the tally. for both, it is expected that the remaining votes are from more pro democratic areas. if they win both, cheney is irrelevant.
well, so far, if webb and tester hold, the only one i missed was talent / mccaskill. and watching the results last night, i thought she was gonna lose up until around midnight or so when she pulled ahead. that race was the toughest for me to call, and i think i wrote both talent's and mccaskill's name in the orig. article as the winner at least twice, finally settleing on talent because i figured he didn't have a ny "firing offenses" and his get out the vote operation was big. overal
HA-HA! You can try! WE still control the senate! actually, right now, no one controls the senate. this is wrong.
i think you missed a major factor in yesterday's election brad. the culture of corruption. the abramoff scandal, the foley / hastert scandal, bob ney, jeffords (democrat, but the party in power usually takes the hit), duke cunningham, the mishandling of katrina followed by (heck of a job brownie!) cronyism, billions of dollars just "lost" in Iraq & afghanastan with no accountability, abu ghirab, the loss of habeas corpus without a fight, igno
your analogies are bad baker, we disagree. i am a libertarian and there is nothing you can do or say that will change that.
A phone conversation with Elie proves otherwise, though, because he DID verify that it was the link he found so upsetting. Perhaps you meant it a different way, but it really doesn't matter anymore, offense was taken whether it was intended or not. yeah it does matter. and your phone call proved nothing. the article was dr guy's. mm actively part
interesting comments so far, thanks!
his latest move is to "declare victory" (over what, i have no idea) and run away...."mission accomplished", eh? lmfao
