Ah,k... I was pretty sure its moral was in decent shape. I could be wrong. At any rate, its certainly worse now for the few hundred people still alive.

Oh, I should also mention that the Minor Civ was halfway across a large sized galaxy from the planet in question. Another relevant point the populous overlooked. :)
Dont recall its morale, but I my empire morale is over 60 (got most of the trade items), and im almost certain the planet was over 50. It certainly didnt have a red face till after it defected and i invaded and slaughtered most of the population. The minor civ was the Indy League, which I guess makes sense.
I seem to be fairly getting the hang of it, playing on normal, one of the two major powers. But just now I had a planet Defect to some peon little minor civ. Now, I am assuming this is a factor of people spending money to destabilize me or whatever (Im pretty dominant in influence), but it just seemed rediculous. This little planet, a major naval staging area for my next war with the other big guy, suddenly decides to defect to a minor who is currently at war with the other big guy,
