But I'm beginning to believe that is precisely what some people WANT. - Gideon Something had to replace the cold war to justify all that military spending and people keeping their heads down. The government must constantly remind us that we need to continue paying it or our lot will suffer.

Nice to see some JU humor. That's a nod for LW and Island Dog. Very fitting humor. What ever became of proving your statements with facts. - jesseledesma The statement(s) I made were pure satire, Jess., those that get it know it's also pure Def. . : } It is good to see that somebody is questioning the GAO and their objectivity, but I believe the entity (though soft at times) is usually one to be somewhat forthrigh

All I can say is that this criticism of the war effort is extremely unpatriotic and is undermining the morale of our troops. Obviously, the GAO consists wholly of far left-wing anti-Bushites determined to destroy this administration at all costs without regard to our American way of life, the freedom and stability of the Iraqi people and our own national security. Now stick a cattle prod up my ass and make me like it.

Take that bait Doc. ! Yes, we'd have to have a Democrat on the Republican Presidential ticket just because the field of Republican candidates is so pitiful you can't find a suiting V.P. to complement Ron Paul. Using Edwards just adds to the absurdist point.

How about removing money from campaigns ( and shut up you sniveling whining weasels complaining about infractions of the first amendment, you abridged that shit a long time ago quite willingly ) and having public elections? Certainly would give lobbyists and other certain conglomerates a short shrift and equalize the voice in America - don't you think? You clean things up by taking out the currency. I'm going to repeat that. You clean things up by taking ou

Kripes, what a sincere, thoughtful, and honest answer, Singrdave. What has JU come to. Without question, he's leaving a legacy of ineptitude -- but as the Democrat target, is he a fall guy for a larger scheme? - Singrdave A larger scheme of what? The image of the Democrats being the opposition? I fully believe the Democrats will continue to utilize all the power their predecessors have virtually handed th

But IMHO he was part of a larger campaign by the Left to undermine and subvert everything that's happened in Washington since Al Gore lost the contested 2000 election. - singrdave That's a problem I have with this thread and the responses following it. It seems as if some very few people want to simply believe Gonzales resigning as simple politics. The mantra - It's just the dem's hacking away at the Bush administration, as

Those wascally democrats didn't 'get' Gonzalez and they didn't 'get' Scooter. As you all know, the democrats have been too fucking incompetent to 'get' much of anything (done). These guys shot themselves in the foot - they fucked up and they got called on it. Unless you're totally blinded by bias, you've got to think that maybe all of the AG's ducking and diving, not remembering and contradicting as of late is stereotypical behavior of a

I dont believe that Islamisation is their main goal. I said many times that their goal is freedom from the USA/Europe dominance over their lands and resources in addition to freedom from USA/Europe-supported dictators. - ThinkAloud Uh-Oh, somebody isn't brainwashed. Quick, get the Media over here! Get me Fox, MSNBC, Tony Snow, Newt Gingrich, a member of PNAC, the Heritage Foundation , CNN, AIPAC, the DLC, Ralph Reed, Henry Kissinger, Karl Rove, Danny Bonaduce...

It isn't 'liberal's' who want to get out of Iraq, it's the majority of the American Public. Look around. Look it up. Talk to military families, check out some polls, why is President Bush's approval rating in the toilet? Why is the House and Senate approval rating even lower? The anchor is the Iraq War and our execution of it. The fact the American Majority wishes will continue to be ignored in favor of those with the mo

I'd like to know why perfectly capable and articulate writers find it acceptable to post an unadorned video clip for discussion without adding a single line of original content to the issue or topic presented in that video. - Little Whip They don't. People with little time on their hands wanting to share a video clip in a virtual community that is syndicated, however, do find it extremely beneficial ( to the WWW - the only alternati

The truth is that as detestable as many liberals find the small government conservatives, they have the same right to a voice as the liberals do. - Gideon MacLeish That bothers me incredibly. Do small government conservatives even have a voice? What pandering representative does a small government conservative have that has answered the call for limited government healthcare solutions? When have we seen by example attempted local l

I really have to agree with you all in sentiment. Voting can work (and I've always voted and canvassed and expressed support for 'my picks') But I don't think it has been working for a long time. People have not been represented very well by their chosen public servants. Rather, it seems, those Public Servants have helped themselves to public coffers and enjoyed benefits from collectivist entities rather then individual private citizens.

That would be why I believe his post was prideful, and this self-serving. I did not interpret the above article as smug (though it's always good to have some pride!) or self-serving. I did not see how the thread by Kuperman could have been seen as so offensive as to warrant outcry from anyone. I do believe the Jewish culture has 'disproportionately' provided many successful entrepreneurs, entertainers, attorneys, accountants, and good citizens. I think that can be re
