That's a good question, dharmagrl. I don't know if Greywar has an answer or not. I certainly don't. But I know that I would be sick to my stomach (much the way I suspect he is) over not doing anything. Hell, it makes me a little queasy just thinking about the situation happening. It's why I stick my head in the sand.

Hey, I've never had a problem. And I was never there when you and Raver would brawl (didn't happen at *my* house, anyway). I think the worst incident of it that I have seen was the time you "put the Mexican down before he hurt himself"... or was it "for the good of society?" I forget. Really, I'm so much more of a wuss in the alcohol tolerance department, I never *really* tried to keep up. I just tried to impart the perception that I drank much

This aquaintance would probably replace it with "drunken lout." At least a good portion of the time. Did Biohazard ever post this any where? I haven't found it.

1. My SO says (just about every time the balcony story comes up) that Knuckles looks *MUCH* better after the surgery. Fixed his big honking scnoz right up, it did. 2. There was a soldier in the 104th who had headaches for over a year, but kept getting Motrin for it from the TMC. Dude had cancer and died recently. They had diagnosed him with it with about 2 months left to live (right before his ETS)... 3. My SO was pregnant with our first

I was hoping that this installment would actually address "The Fall," but it's more of a prelude. I think you're only building supsense for me, as anyone unfamiliar with what you're talking about won't get it until you come out and say it. My SO is enjoying these, too. FWIW, the "SGT Knuckles" reference was lost there as well, but acknowledged once I explained. (You also garnered some laughs for the "In Loco Parentis" peice. Memories of DLI for

I'm trying to parenthetically explain some of the military and Army specific terms I'm using, and I've noticed Greywar do a bit of the same as well in some of his posts. Not all of them, however. As far as keeping a scorecard on who is who, James... I'm following just fine, but let's look at our cast of characters thus far: 1SG Gregarious - you should get this one. SFC Decree - also by the fact of who was PSG at the time PVT Hick - ch

Thus the reference to Tyson? I fully expected this to start, "No shit, there I was, in the PSG's office..." "One year tour." heh "not been to the field in years..." Yeah, that was a good idea. Watch what you wish for. Ahem. Prosecuted. The "recently fielded equipment" had actually been fielded about a year before you got there. As for the rest of it... spot on. At what point did SSG C start forgiving Raver? When I got her

You would have easily been in the top 5 knowledgeable soldier group... and that includes our instructors. SSG Oldman was supposed to instruct (he would've been top knowledge dog, AFAIK), but he went to sick call instead. With the keys to 318. So they got 213. But it had concertina wire and sandbags in the back. (Thank ghod they offloaded that before we got in; we were packed like sardines.) We also had to start at a later time, as we had a PT te

One: I said, "STFU, Greywar's Ego." Two: The above comment was in good fun, please don't freak out, James. Three: After today's "Sergeant's Time Training," which was Infantry Squad tactics, I no longer feel tactically retarded. Not because it taught me a lot (it didn't), or because I'm some sort of non-pogue pogue soldier, but because of things like: Squad leader taken out by a sniper. No one yells "sniper." (bad) Team lead

Was it that day, or a few days following, when the SSG came in with the same faddish hair style as SPC Raver? I think it was a couple days later. My theory is that this deflected SSG C's vitriol and ill will from SPC Raver to that SSG, allowing Raver to eventually sort of get in C's good graces, and that guy to fall completely out of not just the platoon, but the entire company. The first step down the road to his expulsion...

I just wanted to log on and say, "Fuck you, Dad." But, honestly, SGT Greywar is one of the better supervisor's I've had to work for. He had been my immediate supervisor during a stint in our Orderly Room (read: Company office), and tried very hard to look out for me. He has also been the de facto technical supervisor for about 3 years now... Greywar is the type of soldier who is highly praised for his technical skill, but that's only one factor

If any one might be scared off due to the time invested by the "regulars" of the BBS, there will be a "tournament" MELEE game starting soon. This should be on a separate MELEE program on the same BBS, so everyone can start on the same footing. Just make sure you (C)omment on the appropriate News item when logging in.

It'll be nice to get the full "history" of this. Or at least the current revision. But I suffer from the same malady, so I'll not criticize too harshly. I'm not so sure I want to "enter SSG Vince Calangelo", tho. (And will you retain your current fan once you start relaying other bits of the story? I'm on the edge of my virtual seat.)

Uncomfortable around strong women? Me? *cough* Well, to put my comments to Greywar into more polite terms: it does seem that the estrogen is a bit thick in here. Of the people who have responded to this article, you've got me (after prompting twice), your SO, and three women. Now, honestly, this may back up some of the points you made in your article (importance/ease of communication by gender). Regardless, there it is.
