My dad still talks about how he wanted to name me Camillesabob. He said he'd've called me Cammy for short. I just cannot imagine.... Thank goodness my mother stepped in and said no way. So I ended up Christine and I love my name.

I relax a lot more in the winter time than in the summer. Our summers are short that I've got to hurry hurry hurry to get everything done. You're in MN too right Janders? But even in the summer, I still try to sit down for half an hour and veg out with Wheel of Fortune at least twice a week. When I'm really uptight and got so many things on my mind, it's nice to be able to sprawl out on the couch and turn my brain off. Can I bu
Thanks! I have to figure out how to get Bob to the pet store. The guy said an ice-cream bucket would work. Hmm...do I have one of those laying around anywhere? Good thing he's a hardy fish. I will miss him though and may have to visit him in the pet store occasionally.
Late last fall, as my little son was learning to speak, “Fish” was included as one of his first words. (Go figure!) He loved all things fish. Dad would come home from a day of sitting on the ice with a bucket of frozen wallies. As the fish thawed they would occasionally flip and flop, sending the bucket stuttering across the floor. Son was never as ha
I love the game. But when I moved back home to rural Minnesota in 1998 I couldn't find anyone to play against. I taught one guy and he liked it well enough to indulge me occassionally. He's moved away and went and got married and can't play games with a girl anymore (I suppose his wife wouldn't like it much anyways).
You know....I really really want to comment on this...but I just don't know what to say. The title caught my eye but only because I'm considering putting up ceramic tile in my kitchen. I thought, oh, haiku tiles might be cool... So...m-yeah....
I listened to it as a book on tape and liked it quite a bit. Unfortunately, the version I had was abridged so now I'm left wondering what did I miss? So I'll have to go check out the full version in hardcopy and skim through it.
The lake they were on isn't known for giving up its walleyes easily either. When we want walleye, we have our "secret lake." Haha, don't ALL fisherman have those? But next time you come up to MN if you want walleye, we'll take you out and I will guarantee (well, almost) that you'll have your limit of nice eaters. If you're up for more of a challenge, we know a couple of other lakes that have 'em, but they need to be enticed a little more. <BR
3 Northerns & 4 Bass. They caught other fish too that weren't big enough to qualify. If they had snagged a walleye they would have gotten a 200 point bonus and would have had third or fourth place.
SO took 8th place (out of 50) in the fishing tourney today! What's cool is prizes pay out to 12th place so his team actually paid for its entry fee, calcutta, & bait with a little left over for dinner and drinks tonight. It was a good day.
wow...I hope you feel better... I'm sorry, but We are the terror that flaps in the night. wasn't that Darkwing Duck? I feel safer knowing you're on our side!!
The last time I went to a RenFest was two years ago. SO got sick and puked on a tree. It wasn't pretty. We haven't been back since. He couldn't handle the dark ale.
The dances were my favorite part of the SCA.
I probably did and just got the two words mixed up in my brain. Thanks for the reminder, I was trying to figure out where I would have even heard of a cotillion!
I just got back from a Calcutta. Now before I google Calcutta to find out what it really means and where the word comes from, let me tell you my impression of it and what I think it is. My SO is participating in a fishing tournament tomorrow. A real-live-$200 per boat fishing tournament. First place prize is something like $1500. Before the tournament t
No shit, there I was, hip deep in the day-to-day drivel that was pulling this ordinary Friday afternoon to a stand-still when I looked out the window of my office and saw two gentleman pacing back and forth in front of the river. Slightly odd, but not completely out of the ordinary. The river draws people of all sorts. What was strange was b
Standing in the middle of the room late one afternoon with the sun streaming in orange and gold, he catches sight of his shadow. He pauses, moves, and becomes still once more. Staring. Thinking. Wondering. He raises one hand. He waves. Click, ker-chunk. The wheels fall
Man, I know where you're coming from. You say that when you're older & wiser you'll understand. I don't think I will ever understand. I don't even know if I want to, because I'm afraid that it's so horrible and terrible that even mere understanding would either corrupt me or cause such despair that I would be reduced to a vegetative state. Perhaps age & wisdom comes at the point where you stop asking why.
I read your blog. I have even have you bookmarked in my Favorites. I only have three blogs on that list and I know for sure I'm going to be deleting one and it's not yours! Chin up!
There's a point in every project that you start to feel overwhelmed. This is that point. I just want it all done and be able to come home and relax. Not come home from work and strap on the tool belt for another few hours of manual labor. And there's this little nagging going on in the back of my head that suggests perhaps we will never be done. That as soon as w
At the end of it my hubby looked at me and said, "WTF?" And I was left feeling like...that was it? There seemed to be so many scenes that were building tension for some reason, then nothing... Oh, well.
Congrats Shades!!!!!!!!! It's a great feeling to get a bonus. Did you know it was coming or was it just out of the blue? My boss mentioned something about doing bonuses next week but I'm not holding out any expectations. Last Sept I received a small raise and when the business handed out bonuses around Christmas time, the boss told me that my raise was in leiu of bonus. I was a little hurt because a bonus recognizes an employee's
Then who is #1 for you then?
Hey GW-what'd'ya do with #2?
Just for the record, I made the comment on your Confessions of an Atheist blog BEFORE I read this one...
