17. When The Money Comes Out of The ATM, Scream "I Won!, I Won!" this is my favorite game!!!!! Hmmm, my SO always refers to the ATM as playing the lottery. Although, sometimes he doesn't win.

Someone told me once when I was having a really tough time with worry and anxiety over something silly like money, to look at the situation with the question in mind, "What's the worst that can happen from this?" When I did that, I saw that the worst wasn't really all horrible, and indeed, was unlikely. So I just prepared myself to accept the worst and did everything else that was in my power to avoid that and then left it alone. Peace of mind was a
I wondered the same thing MasonM!!! Oh, no...my mind is almost boggled again...
Splateaux & Greywar: Thanks for the validation that I'm not the only out there that feels like this stuff verges on dirty and wrong <
I'm just sitting here in my little nondescript cubicle silently, ok maybe not so silently, amused at our ability to convert celcius to fahrenheit. It was a little touch and go there and maybe even a bit heated as we bantered back and forth, "It's 9/5 not 5/9" "No, I tell you, it's PLUS 32" What makes this all the more entertaining is that not twenty min
I thought Pokeman was old news...
My business is exhibiting at a home show this weekend and my boss is trying to find a hotel room. He calls a nearby hotel and asks what the rates are. He doesn't like the answer so he then inquires about any current promotions. He says, "No I'm not with the Veteran's Health Convention...but maybe I should be." He concludes his conversation, disconnects, and calls
Right now I'm having the hardest time making my kid pay for summer camp. That was our agreement and now it's time for me to take her to the bank to pretty much clean out her savings account to send in the final payment, but I'm so proud of her for saving so well and reaching her goal that I don't want to let her spend it!! I want to just pay it for her and say, "Good job! Now don't touch your money." Yeah, I know, that would set an extreme
23.80952380952381% nerd blood flows through your veins. 20-29%: You might be infected. Just slightly, but it will fester and grow and there is nothing you can do...you will be assimilated, resistance is futile. Oh crap....is there a preventative antibiotic available???
Dang it, there's no option to edit your own comments? How do I fix that quote formatting thing? If there's no way then please forgive me for screwing it up. (I figured out how to fix my formatting error, but now I can't delete this post....please delete for me!! Again, apologies)
JMO, but I wouldn't go that route. You can tell her that, but when she's knows you're not there to watch her, and she has the access, the temptation may be more than she can resist. I feel like in this particular situation if I told her "no chatrooms" she'd
Funny, and relevant, that you should post such an article. Right now I have in front of me a form from the public library that I need to sign to allow our daughter to "surf" the internet while there. She comes to work with me on Wednesday for Summer Rec programs and in between times when she gets bored helping me work she can hang out at the library which I can see from my office. I had thought I would sign it. But now I'm having second thoughts.
Smartaz: That's where I left it. But it's just in my nature to try to understand. And it's just such a weird feeling, but that's just me. Greywar: I know better than to even try to mess with Opener, but you'd've thought he could've at least brought home some Walleyes instead of an icky Northern. And did he even try to catch a crappie? Nope because it's a panfish and he can catch them whenever. Nevermind that they taste better than Nor
I got a 75, but I don't think so. No one ever finds me funny. I think everybody else is hilarious. But most of the time I keep it to myself. Oh, and word play...I just canNOT handle punny humor. I work for a guy who is in the Insulated Concrete Form industry and he had me reading outloud over the phone Building Code for concrete....all kinds of things regarding stiffness and internel vs external vibration. I had to turn the phone ove
Greywar: I don't know if that trolling or insightful...
I'm taking these classes once a week now, kinda computer refresher classes that are supposedly to prep me to take the A+ Certification, yeah right! They went over the basic of electricity and it just blew my mind. Couldn't get past the resistor in series vs parallel. Bizarre. Out of this world. Against the grain of everything logical. Might as well have given me a primer on quantum physics. The instructor finally just told me to forge
See? I don't get it. Good thing I didn't choose electrician as my calling in life. *shaking head*
Things that boggle my mind: 1. Electricity - one resistor reduces current, two resistors in series reduces current even more, two resistors in parallel reduces current more than one resistor alone but less than two resistors in series? WTF? 2. Accounting - debits are on the left and credits are on the right. Debits increase an asset and credits
Karma: How did the drive home go?
The only time I've ever had a a problem was in the smaller economy cars. I don't feel my security is false. And I never had a parade anyway. So let it rain. Should've known better than to post a positive SUV comment...doh! Sorry, it won't happen again!
But, that is why people should buy cars for what they need, not only because that's what they want. Thank you for that. I always feel like I need to defend our SUV. Ya know, Minnesota winters, heck, even the summers sometimes, and towing boats, snowmobiles, and fish houses. Camping trips and hauling
I searched high and low (well, at least as wide as my internet searching ability allows) and haven't found anything like JoeUser. I love the format and enjoy the wide variety of people that contribute.
Right now I’m sitting in front of the computer screen while my 18 month old son screams for me in the other room. The fit started about fifteen minutes ago, but it feels like an hour. He went one moment from still waters running deep to full-blown gorilla screamin’ feral child. And the cause? I left his line of sight. No, he is not all alone
Greywar: I just started today. It didn't take you long at all to stumble on it. Just remember: Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I'll link over to your blog once I figure out how to do that. There's just not enough time in the day. A girl's gotta work sometimes too.
I'm not sure exactly where I was going with this article. It was something that happened and it disturbed me slightly. Is the point my co-workers jumping to conclusions based soley on the manner of dress and if so, how do they come up with "thugs" and "shysters" from professional attire? Maybe the ancient reputation of salespeople as such (again, thugs and shysters) has come to define that style of dress? Or perhaps, as a salesperson it w
