I am originally from Syracuse, NY. Family moved to California in 1965, then up to Seattle, Washington in 1968 where I currently reside.

My guess would be that it won't be posted. This site is in a word "picky" about the wallpapers that are approved, which is a good thing from a certain point of view. I know it makes me try to improve my skill in making walls. Another post on this site explains that the "moderators" used to reply to all submissions, but that due to some abusive responses to art not being accepted and the resulting loss of moderators, they chan
2005! Should be a good year for Customizing. May this year be prosperous for all.
Thanks, werewolf. Won't make that mistake again.
bladeron, I have uploaded a few walls, and I received a notification of success for the one that made the grade within 3 days. After uploading, you will see a message saying something like "Please allow up to 5 days to be made available". I have had a number that did not make the grade, and I never received any notification concerning those ones. If I understand correctly, you will receive a notification if your subm
Still having intermittent problems uploading to the Wallpaper Library. Received a message "Cannot display this page" on 1/1/2005, which I have seen quite a bit in this library. I can open all other pages on the net, so it is probably an issue with WC. User level 5, Bitmap name, .jpeg preview name, and .zip file name all match. Loading from same directory as other successful
43 last September - hope I can manage to create a full skin suite by 44.
Pushing it off the page sounds like a good solution to me, at least until admin. priviledges are set up. Well done and the rest of us can keep the positive thing going to keep the balance tipped in our favor. <img src="http://
I agree with SD's statement. I had made a wall which consisted of a my own rendition of the Grateful Dead 13-point Lightning Bolt and had submitted the wall. I realized about an hour later that I made a mistake by not asking the Grateful Dead Intellectual Property division for permission to use the bolt I had made based on their design. I spoke with them and sent them a copy of the image I made. They were very nice and said
If I use the media player instead of my stereo or tv, I generally use WMP10 because it just works. If I make a screenshot I generally use Winamp because the skins are much more fun. I burn data files with XP's built-in packet writing feature. Music and Video burning is given to Nero 6 all the way.
Seattle, WA - 38F (3C), Foggy now, it was sunny and brisk earlier this afternoon. Did you know we have many levels of rain here in Seattle? - Rain, Showers, Sprikles, Drizzle, Pouring down, Light, Heavy, Frozen ... all of which are used to describe the forecast by the Weather People here in Seattle. Just for the record though, we do have fabulous blue sky days on occasion where you can seemingly see forever and the air is incredibly f

My updated image link. I use Top, Floating pallet, and Bottom organizer drawer docks. Sorry I couldn't get the image to work here, image available at link below. Peace.
I just wanted to say thank you for all the great effort, the "Christmas Time" WB present, and to wish all the hard working people at both Stardock and WC a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You all really deserve the thanks and a break (even if for a short time) to celebrate the holidays. Thanks again, and I look forward to an exciting 2005 with new customizations and program enhancements. Peace. <img src="http://ima
I am a beginner to skinning, but have used Illustrator for a while. As I see it, an increase in quality of anti-aliasing of the paths would be the answer to allowing one to use vector based graphics with the 72 ppi display limitation. I have to agree that vector support would be nice if the "smoothing factor can be improved dramatically", until then it's Illustrator>Photoshop Mask>Raster graphic for me. Just my 2 cents. <img
The widget dialogs, fade in and fade out are nice features. Nice work.
Help! Anyone got any ideas on how to upload a wallpaper? I am a subscriber level 4 and have successfully uploaded a screenshot within the last 12 hours. I can't seem to be able to upload a wallpaper - I attempted 3 times in a row and I keep getting "page cannot be displayed" message after 70% plus on the progress bar. Bitmap name and zip name match, preview in .jpg format, files loading off of local drive C: from "My Document
Well, tried to upload a Wallpaper submission and got the old "Cannot load page ... server not found". Drats, hope that one gets a fix. Tried from both IE and WC Browser to no avail. If anyone has any helpful hints, I would appreciate it.
"It's getting better all the time...with a little help from my friends" - To coin a phrase from the Beatles. Marked improvement over the last 48 hours, nice job so far, people!!! I am looking forward to uploading at least a screenshot this weekend to test the upstream capabilities. Can't wait till the whole thing is solid. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/congrats
Thanks, reggeduser. I look forward to a long membership here, and am glad everyone at WC is so helpful.
"This was one thing we had to tweak from the old site due to performance page loads. We tried to give a "Big Enough" Preview so our users can get a feel for the skin, also gave the option of enlarging by clicking on the image if they wanted to see the screenshot in full effect." JourneyMan King Punjabi's, Thank you for the explanation, but I was looking for some direction as to what resolution should be uploaded to avoid the squi
For the most part, great performance increase. It does hang once in a while. Does anyone have a fix for the squishing of screenshots? I have uploaded 1280x1024 and 1280x960, both of which are shown as square. I never had a problem at old site, so I suspect issue is here at new site. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smi
After experiencing the "squished screenshot dilema", I was wondering if anyone knows whether this is an issue that will be addressed by WC staff, or whether one needs to upload certain dimensions to prevent the distortion. I uploaded a 1280x1024 screenshot which definitely has issues. Part #2 of this question would be "Is this contained to the screenshots library only, or does this happen in all library uploads?". Thank you f
Thanks, Meowy. I will do my best. This weekend should be full now. :D
Dark-Star and Tiggz, Thank you very much. Question concerning definition of "flat" objects. Does this mean an object created with the shape, selection, or pen tool on any individual layer is defined as a flat object? Should I avoid using a "style" on an object, and apply attributes on individual layers manually? Any thoughts would be helpful. :)
