\system32\hal.dll missing or corrupted......install xp disc Probably a dumb question, but did you install the disc and see if it automatically repairs? Note - if you can't get into recovery console (you might try hitting enter at password request, in case you did not set one), you can edit the boot.ini file from in the Windows interfac

So far WB5.01 is functioning fine here on XP Pro /SP2 and many prominent company apps from 2002 through 2005: Office XP Photoshop 7, Illustrator 10, CorelDRAW 12, Painter IX.5 (with the exception of resizing in conjunction with skins made for WB4.6), Acrobat 7, Bryce 5, Poser 5, etc. The one exception seems to be ImageReady 7, which is not skinning the titlebar. I have not yet tested this with anything other than StealthOS (compact) - the alpha version. Neil, I

Start by zipping the files up into a ".zip" compressed folder, and then use the "Submit a File" link in the "Resources" box on lower left of page. Follow the prompts to upload to the proper library using the following guideline: If the files are ".ico" (Windows icon format) - upload to the "Misc. Icons" library. If the files are ".png" image format - upload to the "ObjectDock" library. Make sure the artwork falls within the guidelines and rules, both links

Keikonium, Note - if you want ".ico" files there is also the IconPackager pack, and the developers icons (which is an executible file that extracts to a folder of your choice). Same link as above in #19.

Please go to the preview(s) you are referring to and copy the address, then use the link button to leave a link to the image. This will allow someone to help with specific information. There are a number of ways to get system stats and custom MP3 players on the desktop: Sysmetrix, DesktopX, WinAmp skins, etc.

I have a question that I just have to ask though, because I am a Corel Draw user my self (not even close to your caliber of course) but, I just have to know, DID YOU COMPLETLEY CREATE EACH PART OF EVERY ONE OF THE ICONS WITH COREL DRAW ONLY? If you did, that is amazing! And I see just how much I need to learn, (DO YOU TEACH?) LOL! I’m for real though I would pay

Considering the sheer amount of content you get, this is probably the best skinning/theme/icon deal that's ever been released. No other comment needed, other than to say I am sorry for becoming a bit depressed while waiting for the updated pack. Mormegil is (IMHO) the best icon artist around. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/sm

Bkwtinyman, If you are referring to the first shot from the left, the WB is "Arrow", and the wall is from "5imple Alpha". Arrow WB https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=5347&LibID=1 5imple Alpha is installed with WB 5.01, and you can find the wall in the skin folder. If you are referring to the first shot on top right, the WB is XBox 360 <A href=

I can verify that uninstalling WB5.01 (after unloading, but leaving the wallpaper selected via the WB config panel) results in the icons being displayed without transparency and shadows on a ".png" wall image. I will be doing a clean install tonight, and will post whether I can use the same wall (.png) with icons displayed properly with transparency and shadows. I did notice that WB5.01 wallpaper function does not recognize the ".png" wall image, so the image had to be applied

I would try the following: 1 - Right-click desktop > Arrange Icons by > toggle the "Lock Web Items on Desktop", and then toggle "Show Desktop Icons". 2 - Use Display Properties\Themes tab to apply the Windows Classic theme > reboot > use the Display Properties\Themes tab to apply the Windows XP theme. 3 - Delete the "IconCache" file found in "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data" folder (this is a hidden folder, so you will nee

Whats wrong with Apogee? Though I generally side with Stardock in most cases, I have to say that I have been missing the "Network Connections" folder icon since day one (from the main "Apogee" manila colored folders) - which is present in the preview on Stardock site for those who are thinking about purchasing. I use that ico

Andy02369, I'm out of ideas beyond this knowledge base article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/en-us yraq may have a better idea, and has proven to be one of the best around at troubleshooting. Good luck.

Is there a way to add an icon to hide in TweakUI? Not sure on that one, but if they are folders, you could try right-clicking the folder > Properties > select "Hidden" > click "Apply" > press "F5" to refresh the desktop, which should then hide the folders. To view the folders later, simply go into "My Computer > Tools me

BTW - since I can't seem to type the address without creating a link above, just note or copy the msn address including the "http://" to use in the run command. All basic stuff that you may or may not have tried already.

I couldn't get the toolbar to uninstall by clicking on the "Y" button and clicking uninstall, so I had to remove it manually This is where my concern lies. Uninstalling manually may or may not have created an issue with IE. If you want to try things other than a repair, you might try the following basic first steps for tro
