Okay, Let's try a couple of things: 1 - Use the following to look in the registry: "Start > Run > type: regedit > press 'Enter' > in the left pane, expand the folders until you reach the following address: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies". It should be noted that ObjectDock uses some type of "overlay" that has been responsible for various game and/or video player issues. I do not code, so I am unsure where the fault actually lies, but I do know that in the instance of Windows Media Player the user can select an option to not use overlay for video which removes any conflict with ObjectDock while loaded. I suspect WindowBlinds is still controlling the wallpaper section. If you still have WindowBlinds installed, you could try to load WB config panel > go to Basic Settings > deselect the "Apply any wallpaper included" option > click "Apply Changes" (note - previous to doing this, you should select either the Windows XP or Windows Classic skin in the config panel). I use IE7, and really like the features. From the current version, I would say that the official release with Vista will be a vast improvement over IE6. OneCare looks to be a good deal, especially if the resource use is brought down to a minimum. I currently use Norton IS 2006, and have a subscription for another 320 days or so. There are also programs out there like "ResHack" which will allow you to open up executables, .dll's, etc. and "hack" the file. In this case, you would first make a backup of the file you want to manipulate > open with the program (ResHack?) > change images in file > save. As always, hacking is a crap-shoot until proven effective, so make sure to save the original file first for use in an emergency, if you attempt such a feat. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/

It sounds like you may be looking at a "System Tray" dock entry. For a normal dock (whether animated or not), you can right-click an empty space on the dock > select "Add" > "New Shortcut". This should place a default entry icon on the dock and invoke the dock entry properties dialog, which you can then use to select a link and an image. You can alternatively drag-n-drop any program's executable file onto the dock (providing you have the "drag locking" feature deselected).

Is the "Luna" Windows theme file in "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes" folder? The "special folder" images (which are found in "My Music", "My Pictures", "My Videos", etc.) are in the explorer shell files, and the only way I know of short of hacking the appropriate explorer file, is to use a third party skinning program. I would like to see them put something along the lines of the two color gradient option that Win 2000 had, but enable colorization of the Taskbar, Start Menu, Titlebar, and any Taskpane (or whatever they are calling the horizontal panes in explorer) with up to say a 5 color gradient. This would be a vast improvement over the limited "Luna" three colors only option.

Normal procedure: Start IP > Tools menu > select "Restore all Icons" > click "Yes" to verify > click "OK" to apply restore. After doing that, you can restore the default "Windows XP" theme (after unloading WindowBlinds) via the 'Display Properties\Themes tab\Theme list" and select Windows XP, then click "Apply". aufish, I recommend you go to the laptop manufacturer's web site and look for any BIOS updates and driver updates (chipset, audio, video, and networking) and then download and burn to disc (or copy to external hard drive). I recommend installing the BIOS update prior to swapping the hard drives. If the manufacturer offers upgrades for your model laptop, look for the maximum size hard drive upgrade offered. Has this been resolved? To the best of my knowledge, if a user has the programs already installed and activated prior to the subscription running out, then the subscription to OD should not have anything to do with the correct functioning of the program. The subscription simply allows you to install any updates, and to install programs from the server. One other note: For programs like WindowBlinds and IconPackager (and soon ObjectDock Plus, if you purchase that one) - which use activation - you will want to look in the relevant programs folder (i.e., "Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds") and copy and save the "sig.bin" file so that you can avoid reactivation if you are performing a simple restore on the same Computer/Operating System installation. Ardilla, If you install the TGT Visual Style 8.0, you will likely see a warning about the stability of Windows towards the end of the installation procedure, due to the new software (Visual Style 8.0) modifying one or more ".dll" (Dynamic Link Library) files.
