Is it me, or is there no way of spesifying where to install it? Did you click the "Custom" button when the install began after extraction? I used the "Install" button on the clean install, and the "Update" button (which replaced the "Install" button) when I installed on top of Office 2003. In both cases, there was also a "Custom" butto

Has anyone else expereinced this and if so how have you rectified it? I simply uninstalled the desktop search, as it is not necessary to run the 2007 beta. I just click the "Ask me later" (or similar) button upon launching Outlook each time. I have run the beta with and without uninstalling Office 2003 without any issues, so have

One other item I forgot to mention is that Dell does a good job of updating drivers and softwares which are available when you create an account and use the "Service Tag" number to access them. They are downloaded as an "executable" file which she can double-click to extract and run the driver and/or software installation. The files automatically extract to a created "C:\Dell" folder and then run automatically, so she can just follow the prompts to install the updates (if she nee

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, and am quite happy with it and Dell. They have fairly good support, and they ship promptly and safely. I would suggest the "Inspiron E1505" line, and it looks like the "Ultimate Productivity" version is $987 and meets your specifictations above http://www.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/entnb_e1505?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs You might want

This shot will probably suffice for the summer, due to my playing around with the new Office 2007 beta. I used the "right-click round Office button > select 'Customize Quick Access toolbar...' > 'Personalize' category to select the Windows Vista (gray) option" - to skin the Office explorer frame. <IMG id=thepic title="Click to visit ImageShack for Image Host

I see lag time in the original request to a site page, but the page (text & graphics) are currently loading much faster. Normally, the page request is responded to anywhere from 3 seconds to over 30 seconds, and then I watch the graphics load fairly slowly. Running latest IE 6, and do not see this graphics loading issue on other major sites (MS, Adobe, etc.) - but their server systems are probably a lot deeper. It seems pretty clear that there

ZeroXero, I suggest you try deleting the ObjectDock cache and then load ObjectDock, which should load with the default settings. If you have not saved the current theme, then you will need to rebuild it from scratch. Note - ObjectDock must be unloaded before clearing the cache. For a mini tutorial on clearing the cache, you can go here http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?AID=82461 <img s

You can keep any icons downloaded, but you won't be able to use the IconPackager theme file. You can still use any ".icl" or ".ico" file to use to modify icons with the built in Windows XP applet, but there are many icons you will not be able to change without IconPackager (or another third party icon utility).

Stardock seems to have changed something in the file format when they went to "Activation" with WB5 and IP3. Did you register the products in Stardock Central via "Tools > Register Products"? I say this due to the options being greyed out (assuming the "File > Archive" function is greyed out). You might try installing the WB 4.6 and once it is installed, try to create an archive and then see if you end up with a ".zip" file. If so, then I would have to believe that the new fil

Have you tried to go into WMP > Tools > Options > Performance tab > Advanced button under 'Video Acceleration' > deselect "Use Overlays"? The only thought I have on the issue.

The "modified theme" is set if the Bliss wallpaper does not apply with the default blue "Luna" theme. I am running out of ideas that would not be experiments at this point. I would say you have a few options: 1 - Unload WB > uninstall WB > reboot > delete any leftover WindowBlinds folder in the Program Files directory > see if you can apply a wallpaper. If this fails, reinstall WindowBlinds (you will be no worse off) and see if this somehow clears the issue. 2

If you want to change a large number of the system icons (drives, folders, start menu icons, etc.) then you would be best served using IconPackager. You can download a shareware version (I believe it is now a 60 day free trial) by going to the Software tab and following the links to download IconPackager.

This is starting to sound like WindowBlinds may be preventing the change. How about this: 1 - Open WB config panel and go to Basic Settings and select the "Apply any wallpaper included" option. 2 - Go into "Wallpaper" section and click the little tools button to bring up the location dialog and deselect all but the WindowBlinds directory option. 3 - Apply a skin that has a wall included. 4 - Reboot the computer and then unload WindowBlinds via the syste
