Hope I'm not spamming or anything, but if you guys want to hear it straight from the developer's keyboard there's a moderated chat session with Aaron Hall (Malfador) at #SpaceEmpires on freenode IRC starting in just over two hours! There is a nifty Java-based web client here: http://www.spaceempires.net/home/irc.html which connects you directly to the channel as a guest, so "I don't know how to use IRC" is no excuse! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" bord

How about a mod replacing all the techs with ones from Space Empires: phased polaron beams, depleted uranium cannons, contra terrene engines, etc.? I would be interested in a Star Control mod though... maybe I could make some hulls for a couple races in Wings? And as for the Red Dwarf, I believe I already did make a model just for fun in my spare time... if you want I can post it somewhere...
DoGA? www.doga.co.jp It is very nice for making quick renders, as those of us who play Space Empires have found, but for things that will be rendered in realtime, it generates horribly inefficient models
The unregistered shareware version of Space Empires II... man, I spent so much time beating back the Dominae, Kzintus, and Zephai Empires with my Barracuda Class Cruisers... I even got some of my brothers to play hotseat, but that quickly got boring as we spent so much time whining about "c'mon, you aren't done moving your ships yet?!?" or "hey, I bet you're cheating by running a tactical combat without me!" <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
Wings 3D is good... I wrote a .X exporter for it. Wings 3D My .X plugin Download wings from its site, then download my .beam file and run wings; on the file menu there should be an "install plugin" command; select the .beam file and you should be able to export .X files from wings!
So I start a game as the "Replon Hierarchy", a customized version of the Yor... OK, fine and dandy... What's this, though? Half the time when I research a tech, the message says something about "humanity's" new discovery or a new era for "the human race"...
