My hubby and I are on wireless together. It is almost always great, except when I am blogging and he starts reading aloud some news story that he just found. Sometimes I am happy to stop and listen and sometimes I want to say...(Very gently and lovingly)...Later, dear!

Lady C, You earned an insightful on this one. In my late teaching days, I did a lot of sub teaching. It was always so much more difficult than straight teaching. I retired about three times and now only teach on Fridays to 6th graders who come to learn the Bible. I have to say my eight students are some of the best youngsters I have ever met. Evidently, their parents are very different from the one who shortchanged you. They never leave without wishin

Them : "Pickaninny. Why is that not the right word?" How well I remember your shock when that sweet, innocent, humble relative used that word, which in your young, limited experience, was always used as a racial slur and is used when a person believes that one race is intrinsically superior to the member of a different race. Since I have known this relative intimately over a period of many years, I thought you were b

greywar, I will give Lorraine your condolences. I added your name to the memorial card that I made to give to her and the family on Friday.

dharmagrl, I really liked your chariot story. Keeping focused on what is ahead is a good policy. How in the world have you coped a life time with rejection and alienation. Those are very difficult things to bear. Give me your secret.

Well said yourself, life happens. Since we have been given the gift of choice, wouldn't it be wonderful if we would all just choose not to be touchy. Like you said...later on we usually find out that the hurter never even knew they were hurting us. We should learn to say often, "Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do."

Ha, ha! If I even knew half of what you are writing about, I would feel so computer literate. Even without that knowledge, I found your post amusing and awesome.

Even though the little town of Oakes, ND was located just 16 miles from where I grew up I knew very little about it. During my childhood, I had been to Oakes a few times to have my teeth tended to by Dr. Lisko. Other than that I knew nothing about the school, the church, the pastor or the people. I thought that I might be allowed to see my parents more

moilman, well, I must make a correction. I have stayed with the Church but not with the order. God willing, I will always be a follower of Christ but just not in the role that I first envisioned myself. Thanks for your interest.

Today I received word that a dear friend of the family has gone to his reward. Stan Gallus and his wife, Lorraine, were long standing friends of the new family that my son and I gained when I remarried three years after the death of my first husband. My thoughts are with Stan’s family today as I plan to attend his funeral on Friday in St. Cloud. There are so

Chiprj, Thanks for this post. That link took me back in blogs before I knew they existed. I enjoyed the story of why you sit on your hands when riding with greywar.

Chiprj, Don't feel alone in not always having a handle on your anger. It can erupt so suddenly that it often takes us by surprise and we may not have the presence of mind to deal with it sanely. I am glad that I can still feel it. I know that I am still alive!

Good post, Chiprj, I can respond to this one more easily than the ones you write on sports, though I read them all. Of course, your mother knew what you were up to...most of the time. Mothers have a God-given radar. My son believes this and so that is why he thinks he doesn't have to communicate very often.

These last few days I have been feeling several negative feelings: anger, frustration impatience, and disappointment…I have felt the need to research the sources and face them because all of those feelings are negative. And as far as my experience has gone, negative feelings do not do good. There are in direct opposition to each other. Before you ge

So little whip, you are saying that you don't think a person can stay focused on a responsibility unless he does it from anger? That there is nothing redeemable about people who sin? That is very contrary to the Good News of Salvation. Then for all of us who sin on a regular basis there is no hope, there is no purpose to life? I think you have not heard the message in its end. In Christ, we have read the last chapter... we know how the story will end..

Chipjr, Thank you also for your interest. I am happy that my love of family came through. I do have a great family heritage even to this day after I have lost through death most of my immediate family. I still have left 1 brother out of five and two sisters out of five, two husbands out of three. (Quite a record on that last score...for an x-nun!)

Different Hanja, Thanks for your interest. Yes, I have gone through many trials just like most people. Some of our bad times result from our own stupid choices, inexperience, and weaknesses. Some are the result of other people's bad choices. How we decide to face them will depend on what we depend on as our source of strength. In my young life, I had to lean on the Lord because I felt totally inadequate on my own. In the long run,... (and it has been a

This, too, arouses my anger. Incidents like those sited here can add layer upon layer of anger in us. And does this do us any good? This leads me to wanting to write a blog about what good comes from our angry feelings? Yes, I am going to do this because I have been feeling anger lately over many things and the results are not good. Just what good does anger do? Does it lead to positive actions or to more negative feelings. That is the litmus test for d

So happy your hubby is home. Now if the stork will just fly by so that he has time to bond with the newcomer. Today in church a family (We thought they had 6 children...it turned out three were nieces or nephews) put life into the worship. They made me smile throughout the service. At the end we sang "Soon and very soon I'm a gonna see the King!" It was very peppy. One of those children got out in the aisle and did a great dance to the beat. I felt tha

I will not go far at all. Stay to the safe but don't be too fetish about it. I have no idea what kimchi is and I am not sure I want to know. I will look it up on google, however. That would be safe.
